I recently watched 7 Grandmasters and The Mystery of Chessboxing. Both are movies that entertained me, while leaving me with a lot of questions regarding plot and sudden character development. Recomended for the kung fu crowd.

+1 for 7 Grandmasters. It is really hard finding a kung fu movie that isn't enjoyable IMO before the 90s

Love Kung-Fu movies. I always find they're better when you kind of go in not knowing what they are about. Unpopular opinion but I was never a big 'The 36th Chamber of Shaolin' fan. Partly because I think I hyped it up so much before actually seeing it.
Stuff like this is more my speed (three VERY different types of Kung-Fu films):
I could post BLACK BELT JONES clips all day.

This can inevitably stem into Blaxploitation Cinema. I had an eclectic taste in film from a very early age. I remember when I was 7 or 8, my parents were going out and I was watching TV in their room. Well...TCM was playing HELL UP IN HARLEM and I remember recognizing Julius Harris from LIVE AND LET DIE, so I kept the movie on. I think it was the scene where Tommy Gibbs (played by the great Fred Williamson) takes someone's kid that my Mom exclaimed, "What on Earth are you watching?" {A reviewer summarized the scene as "Gibbs, after kidnapping someone else's children (and even here, the film seems confused as to exactly how many
children, one or two--with Helen simply accepting the incident rather than bothering to report it to anyone)"}. Good times.

I was really into this. Something endearing about it. It's one of those 'meta-shitty' movies. The story starts off with an idea and absolutely loses all cohesiveness but the film was a fun watch and fairly creepy at times.
I've been enjoying the series 'The Core' on Shudder as well.
I think I need to reactivate my Letterbox account to post the garbage I watch there. This thread is kind of on it's way out.
