Also, my current favourite is the Fuzzrocious Cicada V.7. LOVE it. Never getting rid of my Small Stone or PH-2 either though.

Flanger I intially liked a lot but have difficulties really geling with (except like Lovetone Flange, which obviously is waaay out there). I don't dislike either of these but phasers I really seem to like. How many phasers is ok to have on your board? Cause I have a few I like, and then I get another phaser and really like that, and then want another and and and..... HALP!
What makes you like a phaser? Which phaser for what stuff etc? Tell me!
How many is too many? --Dunno. I have a lot, but I'm not a board guy myself.
I generally use mine for pads & slowly-evolving sweeps. When I was more into guitar, I'd go: guitar > dirt > phaser > chorus/flange > delay for huge walls of sound (sort of like psych orchestral music....a guitar imitating a synth imitating a guitar...I liked to make one instrument sound like 5 different instruments at once)
I've used a Polaron the most this year, but I also like 2/3-stage phasers like the VFE/Empress.

So apparently there's room for at least one more as I went and bought myself a BSRI Resurrect Dead on Planet Jupiter. It'll take at least a week for it go get here, but I'm really looking forward to trying it out!

I don’t know what it is about phasing, but to me it’s more of a special effect than chorus or flange. I want a phaser to do more than just follow a usual LFO. Right now all I have is a Source Audio Orbital Modulator. The phaser modes sound fine, but I’m hoping to get a phaser that does more. Currently I’m considering an Empress Phaser, because I like that it has an auto mode that changes LFO speed based on your attack. It has other auto modes, but I don’t know what they do. The only problem is the Empress only goes up to 4-stages. I wish it could be switched to do more stages.
So basically I’m looking for envelope detecting modulation of the LFO and multiple stage selection. Anybody know what phasers do that?

Anyone familiar with the Alexander Luminous? It does have a dynamic mode, though I think the dynamic mode is only available as an 8-stage phaser. The standard phaser mode has many different number of stages available. Also, it is a digital pedal, but I’m not an analog purist. It looks like it’s at least worth consideration.

I have the earlier La Calavera from Alexander, which has some unique sounds, but I haven't acquired the Luminous yet. Eventually, I plan to get a pair to stack them in different modes.
You might want to check out the Carmesí. It has 4/8-stage options and an envelope feature.
SENDERO: An envelope follower being processed by a sample and hold system, generating phase shifting steps as you attack your instrument.

What's it called when you are getting irrational GAS? I already have an MXR micro phaser with the phase 45 and 90 settings. I don't use it very much. Now I'm thinking about a Grand Orbiter, and what else might be available, when the micro size MXR is probably as much space as I could devote to a phaser. I also have a DOD Phasor 201 which I don't use much (too mild?) I guess it's like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, the porridge is either too hot or too cold.

The Mattoverse phaser is compact with a lot of waveshaping options. Maybe you'd use it more than the MXR.
I never got into the MXR sound---also, the lack of a depth control really annoyed me. (my MXR stand-in is the VFE, which has a lot more features than the original circuit)

Lorre-Mill dropped a new desktop phaser with CV capabilities. ($365 list)
Float Glass is an 8 stage voltage-controlled phaser processor with a complex modulation source. It has the potential to be used as a phaser for signals coming into the input connections as well as a generative noise instrument. The modulation source normally makes a stepped sine waveform which can be smoothed out with the slew control. A smooth sine wave is a classic modulation shape for a phaser. Float Glass also has a noise source and clipped noise source labeled sand.
That's how I found it. (MF/GC database) Every now and then I'll search for 'phaser' and have it sorted by most expensive first---looking for oddities/rare stuff. At one point, MF/GC had 3 Bi-Phase units from the 70s (in typical fashion, the prices varied greatly despite similar condition). I never see anything too rare though (Schulte, FC Death Ray).
She's definitely not sending out tons of demo units to the influencer set, but I've seen people praising the builder on forums (she's supposed to be really personable and friendly with inquiries), but I've never owned any of them. I would like to get her Maxon 350 tribute and some other stuff.

I don’t think it ever came up here, but other than hoping to cop a super cheap Wombtone from the mystery box peeps, I currently have unreasonable gas for a MAE Neck Brace. Dead simple with a nice wide speed range and a mix control.
