i was on my SoundCloud page and got to looking at the avatar there, which is a shot of my ex's cat taken a couple of weeks before she died in 2006.

between the cat and the background (the driveway of the Little House In The Redwoods) with the redwood debris on the ground and the Volvo station wagon parked in the background, it was too evocative and i had to close the page. i've been feeling better lately, specifically this week, but this was a reminder that old, well-loved memories die hard. hard? they die screaming.

I'm just having a shit day. Overslept, got to work late, my hand is sore from drumming, I found that I accidentally brought paraphanelia to work. And I'm here for 3 more hours. Ughghgh.

The RMC Wah is taking up a huge chunk of my board. I like it, but if it doesn't shrink soon it might have to leave. Decisions... Life is hard.

I have the day off, a new amp, and a bunch of time to myself. Perfect day for allergies which make my head so stuffy/cloudy that most sounds hurt.

I had a line today on a record I've been trying to get my mitts on for almost a year now but it fell through when the seller changed their mind.
Why would you negotiate a price and shipping arrangements and then call it off at the end?
Why

Germans should be prohibited from the internet. There is just not enough common sense and kindness in this country.
Thou shalt always communicate more politely than usual in written form.
This guy sells a pretty damn sweet guitar on the bay. I contact, and we agree on a date for me to try the thing. Unfortunately I can't shell out the money for a top-notch guitar without knowing if it suits my style. A couple of hours later the guy texts me to call off the meeting, because someone else has already bought the guitar "no questions asked". And the question I ask myself is: "Dude, I was there first! Why don't you tell the other guy to wait for a fucking day?" I mean, if you want to make the most of it, get an offer from that other guy and tell me you won't go lower than that. All fair game, but just selling something without any consultation with another interested party is just bad style. This is the second time this has happened to me.
Or am I in the wrong?

Well if he found a sucker willing to pay asking price for an instrument for no hassle on his end, I suppose you can't blame him for taking the offer.
I mean that's definitely a bummer for you and you should stick to your principle of wanting to at least play it first, but I really don't think you can blame the seller for passing up that ideal of a situation. Really you should be mad at the other buyer for being so dumb.
Me, I just can't sleepies. I'm almost at the point of staying up all...night (its already morning) also I cam find equilibrium tonight after work, then call in to work tomorrow night which I was already likely going to do so I can hang put with my roommates band who are playing then.

It's still pretty poor form to disregard someone who expressed interest first, I'm sure the buyer would have waited a day for a response.

Can't blame the guy really, but good form would have been to message you and told you someone else was ready to drop the cash and let you have chance to take it if you wanted.

Yeah, something like this. And like I said, this is the second time this exact thing happens to me in a couple of months. Also, I messaged the seller late last night to meet up today in the evening. He'd only have to let the other dude wait for a couple of hours. I think that's just shitty business practice. I would not deal with someone like that ever again. It's understandable but that does not make it any less rude.
Edit: And it was a damn fine guitar.
