So I'm doing workplace training as the final part of the 3 year uni program I've been studying and I'm reaaally enjoying it and the place I'm at. I'm 10 days in (into a 41 day period) and suddenly one of the bosses suddenly shows up in my area of the building.

- Hey! How's it going?
- Hi. Good.
- You're at the end of your studies, right? You'll be done in January?
- Yeah.
- A lot of people here have been saying good things about you, A LOT, and we're looking to hire for next year. Come down and talk to me after lunch tomorrow!
- Ah, oh wow. Makes me really happy to hear that. Yeah, sure. I don't have and updated CV.
- I don't care about that, I only use that to see if I want to bring people in for interviews as a first stage. Come down and see me tomorrow.

So we talked for an hour yesterday and got along really well. Our visions for what we want to do and how seem very similar, so she's invited me back for next week and told me to bring my wage claims and references. I'm super excited! :D

i was watching this live video earlier tonight and my daughter was totally caught, and that's it.
It's enough to make me happy tonight.

(After 10minutes i asked here what was her favorite instrumentand obviously she said drums, like everytime. Her birthday is in two months, got to build that rehearsal room in the downstairs fast, fun times ahead)

I'm glad ILF is back online. 9 times out of 10 that I try to come here it's not working.

Sounds like bad timing? I come on multiple times almost every day and it's barely ever down. :idk:

I spent the weekend (adn yesterday night too) mounting the last batch of furniture, shelves and lamps - which has been equally tiring and satisfying - and, because of this, I finally got to take our turntable and LP collection out of the basement and place them where they should be, yasssssss :joy:

(obvs backache is back :grumpy: )

So..I got the job! :!!!:
After apparently pretty tough competition it was down to me and one other person who'd actually applied for the job, haha, but they decided to go for me. Wage wise I decide to (as per usual) to initially ask for quite a few steps higher than what I'd be happy with, for tactical reasons but they just gave me a straight yes, haha. So yeah, I'm not gonna be rich (for example will be earning half of what my brother, who's in engineering does) but have landed a job I'm really excited about and will be making a lot more than I ever thought I would. Hopefully it'll be half as fun as I'm hoping  . Also, having not to go through the whole job application process and all that comes with it feel amazing. I feel like such a spoiled kid!

Fwiw, 2020 has been real good to me. Moved in with my gf permanently, managed to sell my flat for profit and now this. Something shit has to be waiting round the corner (I did miss out on some gear I really wanted, repeatedly, so at least that should soften the blow). But yeah. Very happy for now at least. :D :animal:
