I actually wear a suit and tie, but the insult is still hilariously specific. More like 'complain(t) heterodox,' amirite?

CATCHING THE BIG FISH: MEDITATION, CONCIOUSNESS, AND CREATIVITY By David Lynch - I find something very soothing in this book. I have probably re-read it more than any other book because it is so short. If you are looking for a guide on Meditation, this not the book you are looking for. It's more about Lynch and why he thinks Meditation (Transcendental) is good. Don't buy it if you are interested.

HOW TO BE ALONE By Jonathan Franzen - I said this in other threads but I am a big fan of his writing. This is short stories. Another one I have read before. Soothing is maybe applicable to this book? I like Franzen's style. Direct sentences, nothing too "showy". I kind of relate to the guy too in his often "controversial" opinions that are not really "controversial", just not popular.

Other than that reading books about Alzheimer's and the Darfur genocide.

I have FEAR AND TREMBLING and REPETITION in paper back. That may be up next to re-visit.

I quote Kierkegaard all the time at work...and nobody wants to hear it ha-ha!

A solid PDK. Probably my favorite of his, or Ubik maybe.

Prequel to Eon. A good SF trilogy. The setup: A hollowed out asteroid enters Earth orbit. Inside are man-made cities, no one home. US and Russia both send teams to explore. Better than Ringworld and Rendevous with Rama, novels by other authors with similar themes.

Three Stigmata is such a good book! Beats out Ubik for me but I might prefer A Scanner Darkly overall.

Really interested in the Greg Bear books now, I've never heard of him before, but I love the premise, like Ringworld and Pushing Ice that I have read.

I think Three Stigmata and Ubik share the top spot for me, they have different qualities although sort of similar. Haven't read A Scanner Darkly yet, though.

Working on this one. Besides the petty bickering, they were some pretty interesting cats, with some good ideas about music and magick.

Where did you find a copy for less than a bazillion dollars?

Also, I guess the dude never actually interviewed Steve Stapleton, which is lame.

Can you say mordant?

Taken in single chapter sprints like swimming in the Moskwa, desperately resisting the urge to deep dive for references and allusions, with plenty of recovery time in between and where are my damned clothes?
