Skimmed the initial demos and this seems promising. (pedal + shipping = about $190 USD, not sure what AUS to EU taxes and fees look like)

https://www.dirtysockeffects.com/product/dot-matrix

seems to excel at--

choppy trem
alien sounds
unique decay dynamics

Just saw this one on reddit, new company's first pedal, doing the portastudio preamp thing.

i like that better with lower gain settings, though i get that people think ugly crunch when they think Portastudio. i’m not sure i need this given that i have the Generation Loss, but i’m interested.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18OQ53ZZwW8 (harp time)
The Fish Circuits ECHO LIMITEUR is a hybrid analog and digital delay with up to 1750ms of delay time and a limiter circuit on one of the two switchable feedback settings. The delay range of the MN3005 analog delay chip has been stretched as far as possible, just before becoming unstable, allowing for lo-fi or degraded repeats on longer delay times. And for the sake of versatility, said range can be extended in the case that higher-fi repeats are preferred. Not hi-fi, mind you, more like a cross between a tape echo, an analog delay, and a low battery radio.

The limiter function is probably the most uncommon element of this pedal. We probably should have started with that, it’s in the name after all. The limiter dynamically reduces the feedback of the delay and can be triggered by the dry or wet signal, or both. This allows to have infinite repeats that can self-regulate not to overpower your dry sound, and/or infinite repeats that reset with every picked note or chord, and/or simply two different loudness for said repeats. That, and users will without a doubt find many other ways to creatively use this feature.

I am a sucker for stuff like this. I was just looking at used Barcus Berry 1330 preamps. They are intended for piezo, but should work fine with regular pickups. The EQ section actually has inductors.

i try not to be too sarcastic, but i can’t help but say “wow, a oscillating fuzz…i love living in 2006.”

Time to bring it back. Plenty of the kids getting into shoegaze right now weren’t even born in 2006. Haha

i’ve never found a oscillating fuzz that worked for me other than as a party trick. i’d prefer revivals of things that i was actually into.

Edge-of-chaos was always more a thing for me than full self-osc. It can be cool if you’re near a hair trigger that your playing will tease out.

the one useful thing i found i could do with oscillating fuzz was putting a second fuzz in the loop of the Truly Beautiful Disaster and tuning it so i could have pitch-determinate feedback.

Complaining about this everywhere I can: All Chase Bliss things should have a volume control. It's really helpful in Lossy but annoying that Mood2 was lacking it.

jeez, no volume control is nuts.
