Quit smoking. Thinking I should maybe kill someone.

Exactly. Just need to find the right victim. The kids playing outside might just fit... in my meat grinder. :)

A meat grinder? Hmm. Talk to your American friends for a better weapon.

I've also got a hammer, a homemade bat, and a cheap katana. And a banana.

In America, our weapon is democracy.

Oh, and guns. So many guns.
And drones.

Look in the pantry and there's just a bunch of guns. It's alright, pack one and swap with some kid for a banana at lunch.

I suck at quitting smoking. I didn't even make it three days

It's infuriating because of everything that stacks up against it. I don't actually enjoy smoking, I know that to anyone who isn't a smoker they can smell it distinctly, I know my health is suffering for it (not least because I have a fair few respiratory/breathing problems anyways), plus the fact I really want to get back into doing vocals and I've lost a noticeable amount of my vocal range and ability to hold notes since I started smoking.

It's just the addiction itself in my head. I want to stop, but I'm really finding this shit difficult.

Bah.

Ok, for this smoking shit, a few stuff that triggered people that I know of, to stop:

Art of Living course.
- It's 5 days, they teach you breathing exercises, and you should strive to do the practice for 40 days. It cleans up the respiratory system and helps break any habit you wish.

Shrooms.
- Making the neuron paths flexible helps breaking habits.

Substitituon.
- Either E-cigarettes, physical activity (endorphins are the shit), or.. idk weed?

Also, habit, when recognized, becomes a choice. This understanding may help as well.

Hardwired physical addictions, like the one for nicotine, are pretty challenging to get through, so I wish you all the best of luck!

Thanks for the advice, very much appreciated!

I'll look into the Art of Living course, for definite, that sounds quite interesting. I'm not sure about the other options, just because I don't want to end up substituting it for something else, unless it's something like physical activity. This could be the push I need to buy myself a rowing machine, I've been considering that for some time.

The main approach I'm looking at taking is distraction. I know I smoke more when I'm at home, bored. If I'm with my girlfriend, I barely smoke, and if I get a new pedal/other form of gear I just end up playing with it for ages and not smoking at all haha.

I'll get there :) I think a lot of it is dredging up willpower on my part, which isn't something I've been very good at.

Thanks again

Next time you get sick, quit at the same time.

I've had some slight headaches so far, but nothing too bad. I might be a bit more annoyed than usual, but I've made sure to only take it out on new-agey spiritual friends. All in all it's going good.
