ChetMagongalo, samplers make the best drum machines, unless you're going for straight EDM. SP-404SX is a good choice. MPC1000/2500 is better, if you can find one at a good price. Plus, MPC's probably have the best sequencers in the game.

Yes, to all this.

The OP-1 looks cool, but I think it's more than I would want for now. Namely I want something that will be very good for making beats, very flexible and able to load samples and use odd timings. I have a Korg Polysix which can do a ton of synth sounds, and have my guitars and pedals, so I'm pretty covered in that area. I'm gonna check out those MPCs, I see lots of musicians I like use them.

Yeah, sounds like a MPC is what you need. Good luck finding a decent one, at a reasonable price. All MPC2500's are good. Black MPC1000 with black back panel. Made in Taiwan. Serial # (21)K107********** or greater, to insure updated pads.

The Pocket Piano is rocking my world. It's perfect for what I want in a synth - it nails the old-school videogamesounds, it's simple to use and has just the right amount of modes for what I want, and the wooden buttons are perfect for my slim, sexy fingers. Running it through pedals is amazing, octave down on the PS-2 really fills it out, and fuzz makes it scream like a dying organ. Love it. Need to get more stickers for it, though.

You know I really need to take a picture of my stuff now that I've gotten rid of all the extra bullshit and all I have is what I use extensively. It's funny I got my analog modular to be able to do cool sound experiments and noodles but I ended up just using it like a really expressive monosynth. I don't mind my Sh-101 and analog modular make a team made in heaven. Drums from my MPC 60 and a couple vinyls and I got some shit going.

I'll make a quick diddy and post it up too.

Very cool. Have you checked out the new Strymon Dig synth video? The guy is using a PP in part of the vid.

My band mate's Roland SH2000 pre-Moog-lawsuit with my Hammond auto-vari 64 underneath. Killer combo!
