I wonder how many plumbers I worked with only knew them by the name "donkey dick"? Call that in on an invoice (happened all the time)

Donkey dick is an audio term too. It means an RE-20 microphone

Never used an RE-20. What are they like, and what else can you use them on besides Vox?

They are basically the default radio mic. They do a great job at rejection and are fairly good at eliminating the proximity effect. They also sound pretty decent on a bass amp or horns. You could use them on toms or kicks, but they are not ideal because they are massive. Basically throw them real close at anything loud with a narrow enough sound source. I personally rarely use them outside of talk vocal sounds or horns, but one of my partners is a fairly big fan of them on bass amps.

Was going to buy a pair of good seats to see Norah Jones as a present to my fiance on our wedding day. They went on sale this morning and almost immediately sold out other than random single seats in the way upper balcony. Ohhhh, but there's plenty available already on StubHub, etc. FUCKING SCALPER FUCKS.

Just a head's up -- they will almost certainly release more tickets closer to the show.

Yeah, I figure as much but being that it's a present for our wedding day I kinda have to have that shit on lock before the last minute. :grumpy:

So our fuck head government has decided to welcome a shit load of Syrian refugees into our country.
And before anyone starts calling me racist or xenophobic. I'm not. I used to be quite happy about welcoming people from shitty war torn countries to have a better life. But then 5 or so years down the track the ungrateful fuckers start pissing and moaning about the way the majority of Australians live their lives. Then they lobby the government to change things to better suit their lifestyle and religious beliefs. Usually at the expense of our way of life. Why can't they just come here and enjoy the freedoms that they obviously can't enjoy in their own homelands? Why do they have to fuck a good thing?

Kaos I can empathize with you. Refugee resettlement is never easy for anyone involved.

That's such a can of worms..... I'm sure you're aware that Europe has experienced something similar for a long while now. The one and only law in the world should be "do whatever you want, whatever pleases you, as long as it's not affecting anyone who doesn't want to be affected by it." Live and let live. But religious fundamentalism is a looooooooooooooooooooong and infuriating topic that I don't want to get into here.

I'm frustrated with how I always get really motivated or inspired when it's least workable or convenient. Like while I'm work. Or just before I have to go to work. Or when I need to go to bed. Is there a psychological or neuro-scientific principle about this? It's so goddamn frustrating and I'd love to have a brain hack to make it work when I need it.

What are they trying to change there?

They aren't here yet but as I've found through past experience that when they do get here they will try to change things to suit themselves, usually at the expense of our lifestyle. It always happens that way. It recently happened that way with the refugees from Sudan, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq.

I don't want you to to think I'm grilling you or anything. I think asking a government to change laws to those based on a certain religion is moronic. What have past groups tried to change? Is it mostly related to Sharia law and such?

Yeah pretty much. And they bring violent and aggressive attitudes with them. They also just make no effort to assimilate. :idk: They just want to live the same way they did in their homelands, stick with their own people and treat the country and everyone else like shit.
