Good thing you guys don't live in LA.

When I almost moved to Humboldt a few years back they were selling "U.S. Out of Humboldt" bumperstickers in the souvenir shops.

I love it up there but there really isn't any work...I would never live in LA by choice but forced to stay here and kind of learning to like it.

Good thing you guys don't live in LA. That is my ocean sounds when I go to bed every night (and also at least once during the day). LAPD just spinning around above my house. Sucks, but I think I am getting somewhat used to it (which is bad in another way). Then all the hollywood studios fly in military choppers and ospreys at low altitude (which is kinda cool sometimes...Fox and Sony Studios are right around here...plus the 10).

In my old apartment, LAPD would pretty much hover outside my window once a week. Sucked...but when they wern't there you could hear the grad students humping (which might be worse, but at least I could laugh...).

I don't know where to put this...it is good for the state, but we have gotten 1.5" of rain in like 3 hours here in LA (which is like 6 months worth). We need it, but LA people suck with weather and our houses/buildings ain't built for it. Flooding, wrecks, blocked roads, power outages, and no cover...so now I have to find something to do today while avoiding a bunch of morons.

And Trump is here on the campaign trail.

And the thing that makes me the most angry...which is hard for me to even type...

some asshole fuckhead people have been torturing dogs down here. Kidnapping them and throwing acid on them and this last one (which looks way too much like my pups) was skinned and stabbed after someone broke its neck. This just fucking destroys me. Fuck people. Oh, and that lady that was doing the crushing in the south deserves more than what she gets (and everyone involved).

Update: around 2" now...people getting swept away in the LA river (if you know it...it looks exactly like the race scene in Grease...empty)...freeways blocked. LA  What would you do if you were Seattle or something?

Also don't really want to see the Who tomorrow, but I have to because my mom throught really tried hard to get me a gift that I would like (and the who are alright...but the two best members are gone).

Dag man--this is kinda harrowing--but also kinda cinematic. Kind've like some early Linklater that takes a wrong turn into Tsukamoto or Chan Wook Park.

The dog thing is super creepy. What, do we have a nation of S.K.I.T.s brewin'? I've seen more than one cat that was lit afire in my time here in the killadelph, but a dog plague....

And rain is weird. A week ago we got 5" in 24hrs, and everyone was forecasting flood doom, but all the streams topped well below flood stage. I don't think it helps when everything is so paved over though--nothing left to absorb all that water....

That and when everyone uses the storm drains as public trash cans.

Update on the dog plague...somebody broke into an animal shelter last night and let all the dogs free. Four got killed (they think by cars). I don't know who these sociopaths are, but damn...bumming me out.

LA is a weird place...shuts down early but you can feel the rumblings in the night shadows. Strange, strange place.

I always have weird times in LA. Rarely bad, occasionally great, but always weird.

And these fuckwipes hurting dogs? They forfeit life.

Good way to put LA...but add sometimes too hot to go outside. haha.

Totally agree with the second statement.

I live between "orthodox Jewish PPL", "Astounding Traffic" and "Wannabe 'ARTS' District"...some parts are still pretty rough. That map always makes me laugh though.

Good luck man. Pedals come and go and you've still got an awesome setup.
