This sounds very nice but the songs don't hold my interest as songs. I keep waiting for the real black metal song to start and it never does.

I woka up with the urge of a long road trip, and this EP came to my mind.

Shit yea!
I saw Pontiak in 2009(?) and they were mindbogglingly good. Haven't really kept up with them since but if you want that sort of warm blanket of heavy psych you can't do much better.

This EP is so simple and beautiful.
honestly i haven't kept up too, but i'm pretty sure they only put out good stuff. They have this..good taste, i don't know how else to call it. In my mind they're like the heavy psych version of Motorpsycho: they're always class.
They're a good live band but on first listen this was.. only ok?

I'm listening to Cinematic Orchestra and drinking coffee. I haven't been able to listen to anything but softer music during all this stuff going on. I kind of miss it but kind of don't. Am I getting too old? LOL

nah -you'll be back to the uncut jamz...eventually \m/
This is a slow burn. Skip the J. Hishashi/Studio Ghibli stylee hymn at the beginning if you like, and maybe the (traditional? avant garde?) shamisen exhibition that follows, but somewhere around 1/2 an hour in, this starts to get more interesting and soon is *quite* interesting...to me at least. ymmv ...and then he goes back to Ghibliland.

Hell yeah, I'll definitely check this out. I fucking love the Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence song.
That sample of, like, a pipe falling onto concrete (or whatever it is) that it uses as percussion always triggers massive nostalgia for me.
For now, I must DANCE
