 I love that Volt Thrower graphic.

pelliott wrote:Also it is surprisingly difficult to find a lot of used stuff I'm interested in around here, let alone for the right price. I don't know what "all day" some guys are talking about when they say you can find stuff all the time like that, but I guess around here either the right deals get snatched up or everyone's shitty blues/country musician and has no interest in the loud

Pretty much this. Despite being a bigger city, Charlotte's craigslist was fucking garbage when I lived there. Don't even get me started on the one here. It's either crap, or overpriced, or both. Makes selling stuff pretty easy though.

Such Hawks, Such Hounds
Last Days Here
Not about the heavies at all, but Sound City was pretty rad as well.

Damn dude that sounds like a pain in the ass. I drilled holes in my bakelite guard to mount the pickup too just for ease of adjustment.

Yeah dude, it was. And I meant when I ordered the pick guard for the telemaster, I got one with holes to pick guard mount. The computer auto corrected to telecaster. But seriously, for being one of the simplest guitars build wise, telecasters are annoying as shit to adjust certain things. But I just put some locking tuners on my current tele and adjusted the string height and intonation, so everything should be good to go for now with the new quarter pound pickups. I'm excited to get the telemaster parts and get to work.

And I don't know much about Atlas, but their builds look good. Glad I could remind you.

I might have to get one made this summer and report back here. I like the fact that its local to me.... for both just the fact that its local, + not having to deal with any shipping

Petras does fantastic work for totally reasonable prices. We played through an Atlas backline at Doomfest this year, and the cabs sounded great. Our bassist had 'em build him a 215, and is going to have another cab (either 610 or 612) made later this year. Highly recommended.

My friend just got two unloaded 2x15s from Petras. http://www.facebook.com/335854312135/photos/pb.335854312135.-2207520000.1398484747./10151960334922136/?type=3&src=https%3A%2F%2Fscontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net%2Fhphotos-prn2%2Ft1.0-9%2F1964829_10151960334922136_671565144_n.jpg&size=960%2C541&fbid=10151960334922136

That's them. I helped him put the speakers in and god damn they are built fine.

Also, his pedal boards

Seriously. It's heartwarming and melancholy and hilarious all at once.

Dand co. Just killed it at stumpfest. Specifically the pos orange house cab they had could not handle darren>Ape Blaster>SLO. Kind of a bummer but they sounded fucking killer and played a new song I was digging very much and think will be even better with the D riffage added in. They finished out with an old marshall cab and again, sounded amazeballs.

Before we came in visited a shop down the st and found an ancient gibby thunderbird 12 STRING!!! Played it a bit and its fucking nice. I think the dude was claiming 56 as the year? To pricey but I'm going to do some research an will decide to go after it or not.

So I just saw Queen Elephantine, and Indy's rig was a Jackson guitar into a Russian Big Muff into a Valve Jr (which was running a sole 4x12).

2 or songs. ~30 minutes. And they fucking crushed. Also, the dude is one of the friendliest people ever, even when I went all drooling fanboy.

Really wish I could have been there. I'm sick as hell. And also had other pressing issues tonight unfortunately. Next time.

Oooh, firebird 12? Do iiiiit!

Just heard back from the deputy at the school I'm doing placement at. Their gonna stick me in a prep class, which is awesome, as it is exactly what I wanted.
Kinda strange though, as he called me back at quarter to five on a Saturday arvo, on a long weekend. I was driving back from visiting my dad in the hospital so I didn't answer it, but the tone of his voice on the message he left reminded me how half assed and unprofessional sounding my voicemail message is. Ooops.
So Monday is go day.
