looks like things may start calming down later tonight...but fuck i am bored of staying in a hotel all day, wi-fi has been sketchy and been watching BBC, CNN and a few music channels...positive note, i've watched a lot of pop music, which i hardly ever watch...and i can say safely that i haven't missed out on anything...the worst thing i saw was Avril Lavine's new song about Hello Kitty...some japanese themed song that is cringe worthy! Also, noticed that Pharrel Williams is on every second pop song...that guy must be raking it in!

Avril Lavine still makes music? Pharrel knows what's up - toanz is in the Arby's hat.

As long as the vocals fit, I'm okay with it. I'm a pretty big fan of the way ASG does a bit of everything depending on the song.

Yeah, so this happened:

Yup...give me all the gear while we're at it.

I was gonna say, that Orange cab just looks like someone painted an ACC 408. They're sweet amps, but only with the right drivers. I'm ambivalent about them, they can sound really good, but total overkill for a tone you can get with a lot of newer stuff now for half the weight and more volume. They're still sweet in their own right though, overkill isn't necessarily a bad thing.

What newer cabs at half the weight other than a dually can put out as much low end that far down as them?

Yea my buddy Josh does vocals for them. I used to talk with him all the time on a different message board and booked a show that sucked for his old band Quell. Great band.

That 408.... mmmmm mmmmmm good

Agreed with DOS!!

SLK you know josh?? He's a friend! Played many a good shows with him, kinda miss him around here since he moved.

Also since he moved his involvement with them has been minimal if at all. Scott and Mikey took over vocal responsibilities so he mainly just does some back ground keyboards.

So I was close when I posted that Purple....which is essentially the same thing, but purple.

We were talking about the science behind those the other night, but I don't think we got down to the nitty gritty of what the two facing speakers actually do.
My guess is that, depending on the phase of the wiring you go for, they act together to push those stupid low frequencies from one speaker face into the other and then blast that out the port under a large amount of pressure, projecting the sound and cutting through cleaner.
Which would have been ideal back in the days before everything got mic'd and DI'd etc.
I should google shit before I post.

Also rad cab. Happy for youse guys :doom:

Oh I thought the purple was just a straight forward facing 4x15... Derp

And thanks man it's not in our hands yet but we should have the funds together lickity split.

For your sake, I hope she can't ;) .

Skip: The taller one is a straight up 4x15, the shorter one is essentially the 408 (two frontwards, two facing each other).
I should have posted the info/blurb that came with it from the planetoftheamps page it came off.
So, my derp.

No dice on the leaf vinyl, but what about stripping it, sanding it back smooth and making some stencils to do layers of green leaf stains?

Honestly I could go the fancy pants route and use automotive paint. Prime it with primer / filler , sand it smooth, use a Chrysler plumb crazy base coat, a ford metallic style mid coat for sparkles. Then do stenciled weed leaves, and then Coat it with a few layers of industrial enamel clear.

But then I wouldn't wanna take it out of the house haha
