Yea my buddy Josh does vocals for them. I used to talk with him all the time on a different message board and booked a show that sucked for his old band Quell. Great band.
Thats pretty cool, my band opened for Quell back in the day in Atlanta. Pretty nice dudes and I really dug the band back then. Haven't listened to the in forever though. I gotta go dig through my cds and find it.

My thoughts exactly.
Played drums at practice last night. My hand held up better than my legs did. I haven't played drums in years and my stamina is gone. The drummer we have now told us the other day that he is planning on joining the army but his recruiter said he had to lose some weight before he goes. He said he was going to be heading out to basic in July or August. I'm gonna be moving to the drums until we find someone, which looks like never. I'm cool with that on one hand because I fucking love playing drums, but on the other hand I don't wanna cause I just got that sweet ass fucking Matamp.

What would be the usable low frequency on that beast?!?!?!?!

I dunno why I just have something against the duallies.... maybe because I was taught to never trust anything that promised the world. I understand people say it delivers but their just not for me....

Plus their curb appeal is meh in my opinion, I understand function over fashion but they just look super plain to me.

I think its becoming more and more clear.... either you need to move up here or I need to move down there.

This thread moves ridiculously fast... That said, spent the day in Jersey yesterday getting tattooed with my mom which was rad. She got introduced to doom in the shop as the artist and I were talking about High On Fire and Sleep.
As far as the 408 goes, I'm beyond stoked to buy this cab, because HOLY SHIT 415's/MY ACTUAL DREAM CAB! Also, it's being sold out of a studio by a dude who's recorded a ton of my favorite bands. (Coke Bust, Magrudergrind, Pianos Become The Teeth, Sick Fix, Pulling Teeth, etc...)

I don't think they promise the world. Some TB members are kind of crazy about promoting Greenboy shizz, for sure. They're definitely the best ported 215 cab I've played based on volume, tone and low end. If they didn't delivery on volume and low end, I wouldn't have bought a second one. I understand the aesthetic complaint, but it doesn't mean that much to me usually. I'm super plain and boring when it comes to visual style, just ask Nick about designing stuff for me! When Mark made my Duallies I could have had him make them look like ANYTHING and they're both all black. The size thing I understand, it's convenient for transporting them, but I have to elevate them a bit when playing since they're so short (I think my Eminence one is sitting on chillerthanmost's pedalboard case or something right now). I too desire large cabs just for the sake of looking cool at times. I'm going to make a sealed 415 to go under the 300W head Nick is building me, just because it's going to be so wide I want something appropriately wide and tall to put under it. Before that I'll probably just stack the two Duallies side by side and put the head on top and see how it works.
The 408 is awesome with the appropriate drivers though. If you replace them (or even ONE) with the wrong driver, they turn into a fart box. The affordable ones that turn up always seem to be gutted or have something replaced. The whole size/weight compared to efficiency thing is all preference, they sound killer on their own merits.

Yeah its those Greenboy fans that kinda ruined it for me and I guess made it seem like they are the end all be all. Claims of filling 10k seating churches without a PA and all kinds of other non-sense just made me kinda go

The whole large cab aesthetic thing is weird, I'm a big guy so naturally i tend to gravitate towards larger gear because otherwise I feel like it looks like a toy on me. Les Pauls look like kids guitars on me hahaha I can totally understand though the want and desire to have a smaller cab that can deliver what the bigger cabs can and sometimes more, their just not for me apparently.
The one we are looking at I believe has the stock eminence speakers, I know for sure it has eminence of some sort.

I've been waiting to make further contact till we had the funds secured, which I believe as of today we have. So I'll report back once talking to him. But from what I understand JohnK and Mikey (beebassdude) have swapped the speakers in theirs for what Monolith used which is the Eminence CB158's with good results. Luckily Mikey lives ten minutes away so if we wanted to compare before swapping speakers it could be done easily.

Yes it is. And I have seriously thought about that too. We'd have the heaviest band ever.

More like the east coast Neurosis.

Tis! The only problem is there are no paying EMS jobs here they are all volunteer. So he'd have to work in DC or over in Maryland and its not easy to get into either of those.

not sure ill look for the winISD file ive got on it.
IIRC I did one for a 21 that can be had for 129.99 a pop and an 18 that's fucking retarded mean but expensive as fuck and needs A LOT OF CLEAN POWER to even excite it.
