Looks like it to me. The manual is pretty vague though.

Says it will in the midi doc.

Thanks for your patience, sorry for being such a noob haha

Update for people maybe wondering the same thing. SQ-1 outputs the required signal for syncing pocket operators and volcas/electribes, whereas the beatstep doesn't really. Had long discussions with the folks in DLX music in Stockholm (super duper helpful staff!) and I should now be able to do the stuff I want. Except include the OP-1  but that is for another time of mindlessly spending money

Yea, I kinda figured either the op-1 or Pocket Operator would be the one to give you problems.

I couldn't remember that much about mine when I had it and I never used it with a computer (though they did claim it can integrate with a DAW).

More info: https://www.operator-1.com/index.php?p= ... in-details

I'd ask the digdug doctor...he knows his op-1.

Thing is that there is no midi syncing the OP-1 without an USB thing, like the OPlab (300 nicka loooool) or kenton USB host. Whatever, ill make it work. Now i can have drum machine po-12 making the microgranny really shine, which is what I wanted!

It makes it super convenient that all the bastl stuff syncs with their own midi connectors. In regard to my earlier post. Perfect Circuit had a sale so I bought whatever trinity I didn't already have.

 could you midi sync a volca (cheaper than 300) and use the clock out from that to sync with the pocket operators?

I thought of using a volca as a master, but it's essentially similar to the SQ-1 in that all i/o:s on a volca are found on the SQ-1 too. The SQ-1 has some more sequencing functions and more essentially, midi out! Unfortunately, there is no way to connect an OP-1 to anything without some kind of USB midi thing. Or you know, I might be terribly wrong too

I'm gonna get one of those midi bastls, and when I do, I might as well pick up a trinity module. Which one would you recommend? The XOR looks really rad!

LOL I started with the XOR. I got all my BASTL stuff on sale though as I could not rationalize the large mark up from the DIY Kits (I'm not much of a DIY'er, I prefer to mod, not build).

The two that appealed to me most were the DRUM and XOR. I kind of got the others cause 1. Sale 2. I'm a completist in every sense of the word. I'm not sure if I even wanted the other ones (FM and POLY)!

I think XOR, MicroGranny, DRUM is a winning combo. Get the stuff on sale though! I got MicroGranny for a super discounted price at Perfect Circuit. Just keep an eye out.

You actually need MIDI to operate XOR. It is the only one (besides SEQUENCE and MIDI) that does not make a sound on its own.

I think they are cheaper over here though! I buy direct from them for 75€ a piece and my microgranny cost 165€. Gonna look into it! XOR is def the most appealing

After all this discussing I'll contribute with a picture how my synth rig looks now. SK-5 just kinda chilling on the side there

Need to solder my own shorter cables, shit's a fucking mess. Also i still don't own a smart phone, so my phone's camera looks like a pixelated watercolor.

Looking good! I have most of those pieces of gear. I can't rationalize getting an OP-1 per my retarded cost vs. aesthetic principals but it is an awesome unit. I love the SQ-1. I only bought it cause I got an amazon $50 gift card and it was delivered the same day (this is how Sharktooth makes decisions) but it truly is great. I love all the pocket commanders (B&H sale). If I knew how awesome the monotrons were I would have bought those ages ago.

I will post a full pic of my "set up" soon. Lately my direction is purchase the cheapest smallest synths possible and don't go Eurorack.

The BASTL stuff is cheaper in Europe EXCEPT I got my Micro for $165 (American Dollars) cause of a sale.

I may have a JASPER WASP clone on the way. Working out things on Muffwiggler.

I think you and I approach gear similarly. I don't have those units but I can almost guess what you are trying to do and it is awesome!

Tell me something, the "sequencer" of the Nova is not really a sequencer right? More like a phrase recorder? That is what my shitty GAIA (that I got for way under the list price and still feel ripped off...but I love it) does. #noquantizing. Do you use the Elektron to sequence?

Oh, that ain't a Nova, it's a Bass Station II. The Sequencer is great on there, but i'm trying to learn how to use the Octatrack's external sequencing, but it's so much fucking machine, a lot to learn. I'm just now realizing that the forum cut off the right side of the picture. But there's an Octatrack over there. The setup i wrote with yesterday was just the BS2 sequencing itself and the Blofeld, Blofeld into the Supernatural, into a stereo channel on the Mackie, BS2 into a mono and MD into two mono channels on the mackie, hella fucking gain on all of them. I really don't want a whole lot more than this setup, but if a girl can fucking dream, the Vermona Retroverb Lancet is so fucking gorgeous, there are a million and one synths i'd still love to try but i'd really just settle for a second mono synth, and i just want to try a Fuck Overdrive one day.

One of my MIDI cables was broken, so i got a new one today. Tomorrow after work i'm going to continue learning how to sequence the Blofeld and BS2 with the OT. It sounds fucking gorgeous. I just want this setup forever. I don't go big on posting pics like that, but i set it up in my temporary room and wrote a song and was just feeling super pleased with myself. Have you posted a pic of your setup that i just missed? I'd love to see it!
