This must be one of the ugliest pedal I've ever seen... And that's too bad cos the demo sounds great. The oscillations sound more dramatic than the ones on my Memory Loss. This might be a very good version of the circuit...

If it wasn't priced that high I'd get it and just rehouse it. I'm usually all about Rhy's style, but that thing is not for me, at all

My Memory Loss has been acting real funny lately... Maybe you have an idea as to what's going on:
A few months ago, I noticed my signal going through the ML seemed gainier than usual, even with the gain knob at 0. But That thing is so unpredictable that I decided to wait and see. Still, the ML has lost a lot of clarity. A few days ago, I experienced a big volume drop, and all of a sudden no more repeats. Time knob was useless. I tweaked the knobs, tried several power supplies. After a while the repeats were back, but the overall sound is still too overdriven. If I remember correctly the tone was a lot clearer when I first got the pedal.
Feels like the pedal is about to give up on me!
What would be your take on this problem? I can take the pedal to a repair shop, but this pedal is so unusual that If I don't show up with a solid diagnosis, the guy wont have any clue...
Thanks for your help !

Swap the PT2399 delay chip. Doesn't cost too much. It's best to order three of them and then to try the pedal out.

My Seppuku Dynamic Echo Modulator had a faulty PT-2399 and I had to try out two replacement chips until it worked again. A member from UK (peaches) sent me his Kompakt Kassette for investigation a few years ago. It had a faulty PT2399. It's the typical culprit in those Seppuku pedals. I don't know if the circuits could have been improved to prevent failure, but as long as the ICs come quite cheap, I don't worry too much and have some spare chips in my box.

Thanks! Thought it could be the PT2399. So a faulty delay chip can bring unwanted distortion?
Is there a calibration of some sort to be done, or is it just a swap and you're good to go?
