well i just did the dhgate thing for that double neck, Issues with it, tuned down to c, cannot intonate the high c and g. bass side is ok. multiple runs in finish. Guitar side tuners are crap, bass side I am actually a bit impressed that they work ok. Nuts are garbage. spent about 4 hours today making and alum nut for the 12 side. bass is next. I knew this going in and have parts ordered to correct everything and will likely fill and re-position bridge holes.
the fake ric is way overpriced. go to the source for better deals. the vintage one might be worth going for but is also way fucking to much. 400 would be a good price if it's a decent build.
I am really enjoying the double. with the new nut on at the correct string height, the 12 neck came alive. so fucking fun to play. the bass side has a great sound and I likely will not swap out the pups. just be prepared to do work to make it into a truly great instrument.

The guy who owns the tokai is a guitar tech, which kind of helps me in the decision.
However the Kasuga is so damn good. I know that I'd hold onto the Kasuga a lot longer and would more than likely make money on it.
I wish someone could make the decision for me hahaha

dunno man, I can't speak to Aus prices/values, but here, any ric clone will only sell for cheap. If you can play both, do so and go from there?

Go for the local one that was used by a guitar tech. Sounds like a better deal to me. I can't see how either would have much resale value but I don't care about knock off Richs.

The point is, it's not even a Tokai - it's just one of those generic chinese copies.
I'm at such a loss here haha

Ever tried a ASAT? Goddamn
Did you see those Black Ice models they did a while back? WANT.
Has anyone tried an ASAT bass? Also, are G&L basses generally active or passive? I'm really considering one.

They are active basses mainly, but I believe they have a push pull pot for selecting passive / active.

to be honest, if your not huge into bass and just want to use it for recording, i would go the cheaper option. End of the day, if you like it, then its not going to be the last bass you own and you can buy something better later on...and If you don't like it, then at least you've saved some money.

I finally got a drummer locked down for a new band. Gotta start trying out guitarists now.

Anyone on here know anyone who builds the 1776 rub-a-dub deluxe reverb pedal? My buddy has one of the regular models, loved it since I recorded him with it and I want one. DIY is a no go for me with pedals. Put a soldering iron in my hand and I become burnt PCB factory.
