In my mind... I wouldn't put the effort into it like that. With all my guitars I haven't even changed pickups. If it wasn't right or sounded right when I played it or got it I either didn't pick it up or sold it off.

Was looking at 612 cab pics through google images and came across a thread from harmony central with a 7 page thread where a guy asked some pros and cons on getting a 612 mainly asking about sound and if it would be a proper fit for his amp.
the 7 pages were of a bunch of crybabies saying how heavy it would be and how anyone who uses that is a 'try hard' and various beta-sounding bullshit of broke kids. Hilarious as I sat there and read going... these 'people' are completely and utterly clueless. One was saying how he didn't even want to get a 412 cause he didn't want to actually have to move something that heavy for a show. jesus weakbitch christ.,

Does it make me a weakbitch in the fact that not only do I seek out larger cabs for volume and headroom, but also cause the bigger ones have wheels?

Acquired a Biyang Mouse as part of a trade a couple months back. Sounded thin and lame as shit and one sleepless night I came across this post.
http://www.tdpri.com/forum/stomp-box/306837-gfs-brownie-biyang-mouse-users-important-rat-content.htmlI swapped the single 56k ohm resistor for a 560 ohm resistor today and I'm just posting to say holy shit, makes all the fucking difference in the world and I now love this fuckin' thing. So if ya need a cheap ass, lm308 equipped rat, it's definitely something to consider.

Last night mad mardigans old bass player filled in for their show. He picked up the ampeg 8x10 and carried into the place and up onto the stage. As if it was a 2x12.
also I'd say RIP HCFX, but I think we are all better off now. That place had it's upsides. I do miss Meandi's resto threads, but so many of the "mehhhhh if the venue has a PA, you dont neeeeed an amplifiber" "why do you have so many speakers? It will be to Loud" "fractal effects make real amps obsolete and sound better"

why limit yourself to stockers? I love pickups / strings all sorts of shit. even tubes NOS, modern, obscure builds, I would never wall myself like that.
:edit: link to harmony central thread pls depending on how old it is, I might have been the 1 dude calling the pussies, pussies.

I used a 612 for a long time so I also might have been one of the people calling out sissies. I really want to replace both of my current 4x12's with 612's.

Yeah.. I was like, "Well... I haven't seen THAT before". Maybe he is a super hero or something. That shit looked funny as hell. I mean, I could sort of see grabbing the towel rack on the one side, but what the hell was he grabbing to pick it up and carry it SIDEWAYS?

I think maybe a family member of his was the SUNN cab test subject for handle placement and ease of moving.
SUNN Designer: OK John, where would you put these two handles on this 5'x2.5' cab?
John Heman: Oh.. well, top right corner and right side near the top should do i suppose. I just mainly grab it in the middle without using the straps so....
SUNN Designer: OK, got it! Just about anywhere so long as they handles are about a foot apart. Perfect!

the only thing I don't like about 6x12s is the impedance issues.

That HAS to be how it went down.
also
"hey! this is easy to carry! lets make it bigger! and those handles? totally not needed. We could absolutely make it more cool if we add a foot to the front for no reason. we'll just recess the speakers inside it"

hahahahahahaha first thing I thought it might have been someone from here. apparently it's a 4 year old thread.
http://www.harmonycentral.com/forum/for ... 8/1424836-And the reason I always stuck with stock is cause honestly i didn't want to get in and mess with shit. Now currently I plan to replace the pick up in my Dorado cause well the pick up in it shit the bed. and I have to replace pickups in 2 Jacksons I have. both of them have gotten to the point of being terrible. I just didn't have much confidence that I would be able to mess around with them without fucking shit up but I can teach myself..
far as impedance on a 612 cab I figured it was all in the matter of how you ran your speaker set so it can still be your standard 4 8 16. The one I'm planning I want to do it up basically like a 212 and a 412 instead of how I've seen some done where it's two 312s.
And no Joe... you have sense about you and aren't telling people to scale down to pussy levels.
Lol the sun scenario on handle placement.

I'm really interested in hearing this... I had the same idea when I saw the video. Except mine will be a Squier and I'm too broke for both the pickup and the bass...

I price stuff according to market value. If the internet has decided that market value is stupidly overpriced, then so be it. I might be inclined to sell it a bit lower than market, but I definitely don't feel badly about making profit off of a transaction, especially since TGP (where it will probably sell quickest) is full of d-bags who would take advantage of someone being a good dude and selling the pedal cheap.
