It's a cliche to complain about family during Christmas.

But thank God it's done.

Also glad it's mostly done. Still have to see my family one more time.

super diverse city translates to diversity of assholes. Familiarity breeds contempt, and city life encourages disassociation with humanity due to the rat race. Everyone on top of each other, in a mad rush competing for basic resources, space and services. Also a pissing contest of who can be the most obnoxious and miserable at any given time. Humans are social creatures but too much of a good thing applies. Compare it to the people you meet in small towns, who may give you shit but tend to be genuine & friendly by comparison.
maybe by that metric, but they're still no saints.

ILFSS surprise was spoiled
ILFSS pedal is part broken
I became ill
Had a death in the fam, great aunt @95
Today my head feels like it's in a vise

Everything is so...bleh.
With a glance at the upcoming schedule, my week is ruined. I know how it's gonna be.
Wake up at 5:20.
Waste time at this hopeless, meaningless, assembly line job.
Come home to stressed out people.
Work on a car, maybe make some headway.
Too tired to keep working at it.
Fuck around until bedtime.
Don't get laid.
Stay up too late. Gonna be tired all the next day.
Wake up at 5:20...

Ugh. Maybe I just need to vent. I walk around wanting to punch someone right in the mouth. I'm also drunk. Oh well. Whatever.

I decided to sit on the edge of the tub, shower running, pretending i was that guy at the end of Blade Runner.
Best decision of 2017 (pre-emptively calling an end to this year).

Okay, now it's kind of getting to me how much this computer crash is gonna fuck up. The thesis thing is one thing, but it's written in google docs so that's fine. However, all the music I've made over almost 4 years, a heap of research I made for articles I was gonna write are gone, all of the pictures I've taken etc etc. fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

It has happened to me but the hard drive was left intact, so I just removed it, placed it in an external hard drive case and copied it all to my new computer. Maybe this is possible in your case?

Now it's about time for an external HD, right? Losing all my recorded stuff was one of my wildest fears.

But calm down and find someone who is experienced in rescuing data from crashed computers. Don't give up right now.
