Bongripper and In the Company of Serpents were fucking awesome. I expected a great show, but this was beyond what I expected. Each band was awesome. There was no lulls from one to the next. Each one picked up right where the other left off. Call of the void was a total surprise. They really reminded me of the level and intensity I'd get from soilent green the many times I've seen them.(not that their music was that similar, just the feeling.) Stoic dissention played some awesome, slightly atmospheric black metal. Want out of place at all. Really enjoyed it.
Bongripper fucking killed it. The whole set was exactly what I would have hoped they would play from start to finish. ( I'm from Louisiana. I say y'all.)
In The Company of Serpents was fucking heavy as shit. They were definitely my kind of Satan.
Great fucking show.

So bummed I had to miss this show.

I'll be sure not to rub it in.

It was fucking insane.
I was at the very front for Sunn with my hands on the stage and it just fucking blew my mind.
Everything was shaking.
It's the most serious display of power imaginable with music.
My throat wouldn't stop resonating at the same frequency and it felt so fucking strange - my whole body was pretty much a vibrator hahaha

I also got an email from the luthier telling me my guitar is ready (cross post from guitar thread):

Currently awaiting for this to arrive…

When it arrives the immediate mods include:
new pots
new switches
new pickups
new caps
new aluminium nut

I'll also probably age the binding and inlays slightly….
Also considering a 3ply black white black pick guard….

:excellent:

Fuckin' hell mate...that looks delicious man. I cant believe you are getting that for $300.

Anyone have vocal tips/tricks for doom and other heavy genres? I've used the zen of screaming and some online guides before, but everything ends up sounding too rehearsed and not very raw, but the way I'm doing it now rips my vocal cords up.

I think your doing fine, your just using too much throat and not enough diaphragm. We'll get you set straight...

Which leads me to..... Hello group vocal demo track:

I saw that about the promoter in GA for the EyeHateGod show a few times already, that's messed up. I was just having a conversation with a friend yesterday over lunch, about shitty people who ruin it for everyone else in local music scenes. What a bummer.

I got a few more emails from drummers this weekend, so hopefully they all don't schedule jam sessions and then flake out lol. :whateva:

Damn, I am so behind, I haven't been around in a while. Any highlights from the past month or so?

Saw Bongripper a few nights ago. Shit was epic, ilf member emptyparadigm's band Khemmis also played (Amongst a bunch of other awesome local bands), which was rad as fuck as well. This show was also my first exposure to Catholic Girls, I highly recommend them as well.

Good to meet you, dude! That was a serious righteous night. The Bongripper dudes were awesome, and their set was CRUSHING.

Just noticed Phil who sadly doesn't post here any more is going to YOB and Pallbearer in Manchester in September. I totally want to crash it and join him.

Why wouldn't you? That sounds like a righteous gig (if only for Yob, I still haven't listened to much Pallbearer).
