I'm sick about once a year, and naturally it needed to happen now when I've got two weeks left to hand in an almost finished draft of my thesis. I mean, I'm not actually stressed out, know I'll get it done, but I still hate not being able to work. Feeling a bit better today, so hopefully I'll be able to get back on the horse tomorrow.

Feeling like I might flip out here at work today...verging on a panic attack over some of this nonsense.

Also: sick like Eivind. Doesn't help.

That's shitty dude. Feel free to text dumb memes or smart ideas (or dumb ideas and smart memes).

I had a serious "wrong side of the bed" moment on Sunday -- woke up feeling super morose, as if I'd had a devastating dream I couldn't quite remember. Real weird.

Oh, great, just when I need cash to restart my fuzz business it looks like I'll have to give out a £100 refund on something I sold on ebay that's gone missing in the post. Fucking fuck.

Well stop huffing solder fumes. Get a fan, or wave them away with your tiny hands.

I try not to post specifics for obvious reasons, but fuck if this place isn't my darkest vision for higher ed. I got into this field because I wanted 1) autonomy and 2) to never have to justify my decisions based on whether they make someone else money. Really, I only stay on to slow the imminent demise of this place, and to safeguard students (who are blameless) from the bullshit they're subjected to.

Weird to be a part of an institution that you don't think deserves to exist. Cognitive dissonance everywhere...making me physically ill; losing sleep, &c. Time to go.

Sounds familiar.
The good fight is becoming increasingly harder to fight.

Yeah man. Let me channel some Burke and paraphrase the whole 'the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing.' Not that I'm a saint, but...sometimes it is unhealthy and unsustainable.

And don't read this as a martyr thing, but if/when I go, there is no one left to prevent some heinous shit from going down.

I feel the same about my workplace but you can't spend your life waiting for a train to hit you....and then demolish everything you were trying to protect anyway.
Trains don't care, man.
Trains don't care.

Edited because I put a comma where there should not have been a comma.
