angry gods are sweet but might not fit the bill. Itto are sweet. Same boat. Could try Cloakroom. Very shoe gaze influenced.

I love that second wave shoegaze stuff. Have you guys heard Psychic Teens and / or Creepoid? Both rad. Both from Philly, but Creepoid just moved to Savannah.

That's a lot more specific than "rad."

I'd open for you, but I'd probably need to borrow your gear. That's cool, right?

More helpfully: I'll hit up my Chicago area people to see if they have/know any cool bands that might fit.

I feel like "Rad Chicago band suggestions that could open our show there on 8/13?" is actually pretty specific YMMV

Thanks for all the tuner input dudes. The pitchblack served me well for about 8 years but I guess you step on anything long enough and it'll eventually give you the finger. Just ordered a polytune mini

Ha. My drummer also drums for psychic teens. Nifty to see their name pop up here.

My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Ride, Catherine Wheel, Galaxie 500 for good shoegaze

Also Jesu for shoegaze mixed with doom

Ok...so i didn't know that use to listen to Shoegaze back in the 90's...i did use to listed to My Bloody Valentine a lot back in the day, but just saw it as rock, didn't know there was actually a sub genre. I really found them easy to listen to while i was studying at University.

i might go back and listen to some of the other bands too...thanks for the info :thumb:

Of course thats the one that people filmed and did stuff with, so maybe it wasn't as bad from the audiences perspective. I dig what the guy did and the mics are less blown out than most of our live footage.

Yup. Adding Swervedriver and Jesus And Mary Chain to this.
