I had to drop a parenting bomb and follow through on it yesterday.
My 4yo has been taking circus classes for fun but progressively been more reluctant to participate as the term has gone on, despite the fact she loves it once shes doing it and is quite good at ir. Yesterday was the last class of the term and she just point blank refused to do anything. Wouldnt wvwn watch. I kind of ran out of fuse, told her to get her shit, pack it up and get in the car. We just left. She didnt get to say thanks or goodbye to her instructors which i feel like a complete dick about. And when we got home she eventually told me that she doesn't like it there and everything makes her feel scared, and that its too noisy.
It dawned on me that she might have some social anxiety about the size of the class, which makes me feel like an even bigger asshole, but the way my daughter handles things really pushes my patience to its absolute limits.
Im going to email her instructors and apologize. They probably think im this savage bogan that beats his kids in the sea of permissive middle class parents they usually get, but whatever.
Im more concerned because this kid has to start school next year and whike shes smart enough, I'm starting to form the impression she is nowhere near emotionally ready.

Patience is a tough thing with kids, for sure. I've found it hard because the non-verbal communication is just so much different than the confrontation types in used to.

After, literally, five minutes of driving I had to deal with three people who, apparently, were unaware that you're not supposed to drive in the middle of the fucking road and two people that had absolutely no fucking clue why the turn signal was invented.

Oh yeah man, absolutely, Im aware of all the developmental factors, whats frustrating is her inconsistency.
Shes a typical 4yo in that sense really, but we got somewhat spoilt with my son in that hes very clear and doesnt become overly emotional easily
