The name sucks.
Why would I check this band out? I have the ability with a click or two I can check out anything I want online why would I waste time searching out and decoding meanings that are intended to be unclear.
I took the time to read the ENTIRETY of these comments and there was only ONE from a band member. That's it keep your head down let everyone else do the work.

You are making the wrong choice.
The wrong stand.

This affects who choses to play with you
tour with you
book you a show
set up merch next to you
offers you a place to sleep
decides what goes in your glass in exchange for a drink ticket...
You are lucky to have made friends with folks of high caliber Cole, Jon Adam etc but if you don't care to offer a justifiable explanation to me and othesr why should we care or involve ourselves with your band or your music?
To any other readers who say "no big deal whatever it's punk bro" does it need to be spelled out for you if you don't feel like the word Whore is a boot on your neck don't try to deflate someone gasping for air.
Let me spell it out (and walk away cause at this point I'm exhausted of you and you're exhausted of me) If 30-50% of the people that might enjoy your band are put off by the name are you going to be a satisfied with your endeavors? But that juggalo % will buy more than enough of your merch?"

So yeah.

HAHAHAHAHAAH that's fucking retarded. That's a might high horse that sonofabitch is riding.

Reminds me back when my guitarist was more high strung in my sludge band cause in the lyrics I used whore. So I changed it in favor of calling every song at every show whore. Also wanted to argue with me that a song title called makeshift noose was racist. That's just looking for shit to bitch about.

People love to be "outraged" so they can show how enlightened they are.

It's like the thing with the racist mascots in pro sports. Of course it's terrible and wrong. Of course it is. But maybe we should spend that time and effort actually helping the Native American population with the myriad real-world issues instead of fake, white privilege outrage.

I really think people puff up to feel better about themselves or to quiet some sort of vague guilt that they feel for secretly being a piece of shit.

My girlfriend, sister and mother are all ardent feminists, btw.

bottom line:
if you didnt tell us earlier about the name sitch
i would never think this day in age
people actually could be offended by music
or a freakin band name for that matter
one thing i agree with in that thing there
changing your name when you get popular
as not to offend some uptight demographic out there
yeah
thats definately not punk rock
good for you christian
im buying 2 moreWHORES.shirts right now
and we WILL wear them
where people may get offended
at least well try
but thats the thing
NO ONE GIVES A FUCK

I wear my Whores. (Molotov design) shirt all the time, cuz it's tight and hugs my beer rolls and makes me look so fucking ridiculous that I never have to worry about communicating with any of the ladies. EVER. Which means I can limit my offensiveness to the pure shlubbishness of my physical malformations.

If people can't get beyond kneejerk reactions (to a fucking word, for christsake) and apply even the slightest bit of critical thinking, well..... fuck 'em.

This is right on. Kind of how white privilege in the media works, puff up the stories that really don't have a positive social or economic impact and ignore the serious issues people in oppressed communities. People don't want to have to give up economic and social benefits for a cause but they're sure fine posting on the internet about how a mascot is racist. And it is, but there's more important issues at hand. I will never understand the tradition argument though, tradition is one of humanities dumbest constructs.

That's too bad. But oh well. I associate whores with corporate whores. Not a sexist thing. We're all whores sometimes.
Any luck in Dallas yet? And is there a lineup for Austin? My buds lechuguillas in atx are crazy.

New Sleep single is more important than human rights.

Also, as far as sports mascots go-- the Redskins should absolutely change the name of the franchise.

Thirdly -- Sonny's always been cool to me. As has Christian. Not everyone gets along all the time. So it goes. New Sleep Single.
