fuck that suck man!
hopefully you can replace them in the future with better stuff.
the funny thing, on another local UK guitar forum a Doom Room has sprung up! Suddenly all these people on that forum are coming out of the closet with the love for the music...there are a lot more than I thought.

Eventually once I can get a better job there will be another monson or two in the queue. Until then... Gah...
That's awesome there's more UK doomers coming out! There's been a bunch of badass bands that have come out of there so it makes sense.

My 215 shit the bed again. I think the speaker wire might be shit, time for an upgrade (it's really thin gauge, like 20 or so I'm assuming). This is getting stupid.
I have some thick ass cable for the home stereo, is it all the same?

And I know the feeling Skip, I'm just getting ready to post some more things that I need to get rid of to rebuild my funds. I am probably going to sell both my agiles. So if anyone wants a seven string les paul style guitar or a bass iv style agile harm then let me know.
Hitting that Boris/Atlas Moth/Subrosa tour in Detroit this weekend. Can't wait.
dazedbyday, tell me more about this Agile LP7 you're getting rid of....
It was a great show, and the new material from Boris and Atlas Moth was great. And Sub Rosa is an awesome band. I really dig their stuff.
Agile 7 is this guy:

I got it to play in my band but after playing around with it a bit, it just didn't work out for me in the band context. It really is a great instrument and I added a few little changes. It has dimarzio pickups with a paf 7 in the neck and a blaze neck in the bridge. The volume pots are push pull pots with one for coil splitting and the other to put the pickups in series. I kinda want to keep it but I'm not sure what I would use it for and i could use the cash for other things right now.

It's the same. Should work great. My speaker cable for my home stereo used to be a cord on a vacuum cleaner.

That sucks you have to sell off some gear Skip. I feel your pain man, I put my Carvin SB4000 bass on the chopping block. I had to get a root canal and two crowns last month and my dental insurance coverage pooped out before the two crowns. We got the cash to cover it, but since we've got a week old baby in the house and my wife is going to be on leave with no pay (thanks to her shady city government job, they don't pay into social security or short term disability), I dipped into my gear fund for half of it. Hopefully I can pick up some recording and/or mixing jobs to get it back soon.

Totally my fault for not going to the dentist in a long time. Although it's not like I had a bunch of cavities, my old amalgam fillings are over 15 years old and they were all cracking and falling apart. Broke one of my teeth and left a hole in the side of my molar, which is why I had to get the root canal. Both teeth were more filling than tooth, apparently. Still, if I had gone sooner it probably would have been spread out over years instead of a month. I was in there about 1-2 times a week for about 5 weeks to get it all fixed up. I still have one more appointment on Friday to get the last permanent crown in. Luckily we had a ton of savings, I had a gear fund already saved up for myself and I just did a recording job. So I was able to pay cash on half of it, just cleaned me out for all the new gear I was gonna buy and some building projects. I'm the type of person where I don't feel comfortable unless I have at least a month or two worth of pay in the savings account at all times. Once I get that bass and my iMac sold, hopefully I'll be back close to where I was. I had em both on Craigslist for a month and zero luck, just put them both on TalkBass last night and I have a feeling they'll be gone by the end of the week (hopefully).

Folks, need a quick bit of opinionizing:
I have one of these now:
http://www.pedalpad.com/products/ii-ser ... wer-pad-ii It is pretty OK, but it could be better. Should I mod the fuck out of it, or sell it and build one from scratch? Thoughts are:
1) That gray carpet is awful looking and hair and dirt. Pull it off and stain the wood (the board is made of baltic birch). It's not going to be gorgeous, as the wood is screwed together rather than jointed, but so be it.
2) Would like to have a storage area under the pedals for cables. Thinking about pulling the plastic-y slats out and installing a hinged piece of plywood with holes/slats cut for wires.
3) Would like to install locking 1/4" jacks (with caps) on each side, though that isn't a must-have I suppose.
What say ye? Rebuild this one, or sell it and start from scratch? Downside of the latter is needing to procure a new power supply and that I've never built anything (though, to be fair, my buddy will be helping me and he is an engineer with a nice workshop of woodworking tools).

I hate rat fur as well, it's nasty and only gets more dirty and gross over time. If it were me, I'd strip it all off, clean it up well, perform the mods you want to the wood and then just spray paint it flat black. Easy to do, hides a lot of imperfections and if it gets scuffed up, you can always touch it up easily.
