Sooooooo there is this double cut Les Paul Special with p90s on my local craigslist for a pretty decent price. The want is high, but the funds are low. I need you guys to tell me that it would sound pretty much like my SG classic and cure my wants.
Or tell me about how different and rad it will sound. Either way works.

What you need is an SG standard.

I had to get a root canal and two crowns last month and my dental insurance coverage pooped out before the two crowns. We got the cash to cover it, but since we've got a week old baby in the house and my wife is going to be on leave with no pay (thanks to her shady city government job, they don't pay into social security or short term disability), I dipped into my gear fund for half of it. Hopefully I can pick up some recording and/or mixing jobs to get it back soon.
Fuck. That.
Totally my fault for not going to the dentist in a long time. Although it's not like I had a bunch of cavities, my old amalgam fillings are over 15 years old and they were all cracking and falling apart. Broke one of my teeth and left a hole in the side of my molar, which is why I had to get the root canal. Both teeth were more filling than tooth, apparently. Still, if I had gone sooner it probably would have been spread out over years instead of a month. I was in there about 1-2 times a week for about 5 weeks to get it all fixed up. I still have one more appointment on Friday to get the last permanent crown in. Luckily we had a ton of savings, I had a gear fund already saved up for myself and I just did a recording job. So I was able to pay cash on half of it, just cleaned me out for all the new gear I was gonna buy and some building projects. I'm the type of person where I don't feel comfortable unless I have at least a month or two worth of pay in the savings account at all times. Once I get that bass and my iMac sold, hopefully I'll be back close to where I was. I had em both on Craigslist for a month and zero luck, just put them both on TalkBass last night and I have a feeling they'll be gone by the end of the week (hopefully).
I was actually referring to the fact that your wife is on leave with no pay. Dental stuff sucks too, of course, but project money can be recouped.

Oh fuck, yeah, I barely even register it at this point. She's worked there for two years and anything they could be fucking terrible about, they are. They don't pay into social security, they don't pay into state disability, they're constantly understaffed and the managers/supervisors just don't show up or come in whenever they feel like it and leave people unable to take breaks. They're unionized but their union doesn't seem to do anything but collect dues and let management do whatever they want. My wife is super relaxed, all baby stress aside, just because she's not going there every day.

You're making a lot of sense. If I get this goddamn tele sold I may be hitting you up.

Yep. Maternity leave in America is fucking bullshit.

Dude, get that shit. Get that shit now. What color? I need pics or a link or something. DC LP's are becoming some of my favorite guitars out there. Especially the jr's with single p90's.

It's flat black with dos p90s. I'd probably snatch the neck p90 out and put a red tort guard on it. That's if I had the money. Which I don't. But I can still think about it and masturbate if I want.

It's shocking how the expectation is that 12 weeks is enough time for families. I don't even want to fucking talk about paternity leave. I had just switched jobs when my daughter was born and didn't qualify for FMLA time yet, and only had four days of leave. Four. Fucking. Days.

Yep. I think my wife is only getting 8 weeks, and she said that she didn't want me to take all of December off, so I'm only going to have 2 weeks for the baby around the end of November/beginning of December, and then taking off the whole last week of December into January. But then that's it. So theoretically my wife will have to go back to work at the earliest mid January, at the latest the start of February. I think her pay goes down to 60%, mine is all PTO based apparently.

I haven't, but if I ever get gainful employment again, I plan to find/build a white p90 SG
