i haven't been posting much for awhile. it hasn't been going particularly well for me. once the inner ear infection quieted down and i wasn't falling down unexpectedly, my depression took back over in earnest. i haven't been able to do anything for weeks other than taking care of my cat and doing the bare necessities needed for me to look functional to the people at work. i haven't picked my guitar up for weeks. all i want to do when i get home is pet my cat and go to sleep. And the uber-hot weather--it's been over 90 for a month now--hasn't helped, either. everything seems pointless...nobody wants to hear my music, i'm 60 years old and no doubt will never find another girlfriend, and i just don't care any more. the only time i'm relatively relaxed is when i'm taking Klonopin. Just trying to hang in there until the weather lets up and my depression quiets down (ha ha). if it wasn't for my cat, i think i'd go completely insane.

I'm seriously like one more stupid comment away from quitting my morning job. The 35 bucks I'm walking away with today does not make this worth it. Especially when I have an egotistic manchild barking orders at me. No fucking thanks, dude. I will go home and play Zelda right fucking now. Try me.

Dude, Neon you gotta transcend the BS. Working two jobs at 80 hours a week made me somewhat impervious to other people's comments. Disparaging remarks are like pop ups and click bait. They can't do anything to you unless you engage.

It's pretty crazy that a lot of jobs won't fire you if you can just put up with BS from colleagues or customers or both. Like, I'm not particularly great at my job (or anything for that matter) but I can kind of nod my head say 'okay' 'yes' 'sorry' 'won't happen again' (and it will most definitely happen again) and 'my bad'. It's like Thich Nhat Hanh.

I just got this job and I'm already preparing to quit.
Pretty sick of having my schedule fucked around with because this company can't seem to get their shit together.

I got scheduled to come in at 9:45, then got told to come in an hour later, then, as I'm driving to the location, my phone's getting blown up because "I'm an hour late", all because the person who was doing my schedule didn't inform the other people working about it.

I've posted about this more than I should, but holy fuck the place where I work is crumbling. Just got note that three of my colleagues were let go yesterday--people who were just hired for newly-created positions fifteen months ago. One of those people was the person who hired me when he was the Dean. All of the people who hired me have been fired or laid off. And my boss and I do not get along at all...nor do we agree on anything...hm.

Not necessarily? Although you did say you don't get along. But disagreeing, contrary to popular belief, is not a bad thing. That's how Teams are supposed to work, with different ideas. Also, IM, similar stuff going on at my work. Lots of 'restructuring' and 'back to basics'. Thankfully I do so much stuff no one else 'wants to do' (they very well 'can' do it but are very adverse) so they keep my dumbass.
