Do not give him a fight, perhaps just let him be.

That's how Teams are supposed to work, with different ideas. Also, IM, similar stuff going on at my work. Lots of 'restructuring' and 'back to basics'. Thankfully I do so much stuff no one else 'wants to do' (they very well 'can' do it but are very adverse) so they keep my dumbass.
Yeah I remember you talking about being deferential and quietly absorbing bullshit--that blows.
And re: disagreement: smart people value conflict and disagreement as a way to push things forward. Bullies rely on it as a method for intimidation. I'm working with one of those situations...

Perhaps I'm feeling inordinately optimistic today, but I do think one trumps another as well. Intimidation only works if one party is intimidated. I think countering with ideas is appropriate way of dealing with people. So long as you watch your tone, what are they going to say?
Also, ha-ha wasn't trying to solicit anything. Work is a means to an end. It's an easy way to get brownie points offering to take on things that people don't want to do / people that other's do not want to deal with. It's almost better that way as some people have a lot of pride and don't deal well with taking nastiness. When fact of the matter is, is very inconsequential.
I'll leave this thread to people who are actually struggling now.

That all makes sense to me. To take it one step further: what happens when one meets a bully with rationality, and when one doesn't back down? And when that bully is the president of X? (This is why I'm suspicious that I won't be around a lot longer.)

Revise tactics. Work under their methods. Document everything. Build your case. When it all comes crumbling, present your case to stakeholders. This requires patience though. For inspiration check out the film SERPICO.

Very smart. And very entertaining.
But I don't think I could do it.

Have you thought about
slowly weening off them and trying more homeopathic alternatives? Kelly Brogan was on Joe Rogan awhile ago and that is her specialty. I'm not an expert, not judging, just food for thought.

Homeopathy is a scam, Kelly Brogan is also a dubious person. Too many drugs is bad, yes, but turning to homeopathy is just silly.

Homeopathy's not necessarily a scam, but it just doesn't work. Some people haven't realized that yet.
Also, there's no such thing as "more homeopathic". It's either homeopathic or not.
A more holistic approach, however, may be worth looking into.
