I wanted to make fun of the guy with 18 fuzz pedals but then I started counting my pedals and found 12 fuzzes, two distortions and a boost.
How the hell did that happen? And why was I looking at a quantum mystic earlier today...
the only dirt i have that's not fuzz are an HM-2 and an HM-3.......... the way i set the HM-2 it sounds kinda like a tight fuzz, but still a distortion i boost a Pharaoh with it...... the HM-3 is kinda in between a Muff and a Rat, so you can also EQ to sound very fuzzy with the tone set dark, but still retains that very tight, cutting, and strangely mega-evil sounding high register. so you can see my bias towards dirt sound...
... i'd still like to own a nice OD/Dist collection just to have cause they might come in useful, but i always end up buying more fuzz.

YES.
conky wrote:Yup, moar heavier. The lows and mids on the elements are nowhere as heavy as the quantum mystic from what I remember. I liked the elements better for lower gain stuff when I had one. Haven't tried the low gain stuff with it though. I've been rotating out a Rat, OCD, or Black Forest for my low gain dirt. They all sound great running into the QM.
I'll buy some stickers when you get them.
Now I definitely need one. I will keep yall posted about stickers and ribbons and trophies and whatnot.

And that wasn't an accident. You're subconscious mind took the reigns and made sure you made the correct decision.

^ I cannot read that title without pretending I'm starting a Run DMC song. Everything Dave Catching does is gold, though.

Skip, were the BKPs you dropped in your DeArmond short or long leg? I've found a used set of covered Painkiller 7s for a stupid price, and I want to make sure they'll fit before I pull the trigger.

I'm not quite sure as they were in the guitar when I bought it. What's a stupid price? I might be selling mine soon to fund another guitar...

Would you buy a DigiTech Death Metal for 30 bucks? Is it one of those shitty pedals that's actually not shitty, or is it just shit? Anyone tried it on bass? Tempted just cause, $30 dirt pedal. But not if it's just shit.

The asking price was $200, although there's some cosmetic damage - they're black covers, from that period when BKP was using a cover treatment with a bad tendency to flake. I was hoping to just strip them down to raw nickel. I think he may already have sold them, though.

I just bought one and immediately recorded with it. Shitty? No, just limited, but adjusting the volume and tone knobs on the instrument goes a long way. Sounds awesome on bass, I think. $30 shipped is decent. I've seen them for around $25 plus shipping.

Its a local deal. Maybe I can talk him down to $25. I dont really need it. I should put the money towards my currently-in-progress Marsh Chapel. I need to get the enclosure and finish the design for the etch. I think that will be more satisfying.
