wildebelor wrote:samzadgan wrote:does it matter that those cabs are only 25cm deep? they are old PA speakers
Orange cabs are 380mm deep (I'm building a full stack at the moment so I know the dimensions off the top of my head).
It may affect bass response a lot but it also might sound really great coupled with another cab?
I would pass only because I know there would be something better around the corner… ya know?

I know man...dont think it hasn't occurred to me to throw money at you when i get back to Oz for some cabs and pedals and stuff.
Fuck me that sounds good man...only listening through shitty laptop speakers but if it sounds that good on this, then in real life it must be earth shattering...and nice choice of riff to demo it...the tone was pretty much spot on

Thats a nice score man, i love the black block inlays...are those short scale or 25"? I'd leave the mother of pearl pickgaurd too...what are the pickups like?

Mostly too much of the same sound. I was expecting to find a 300W cab with G12-T75's, but I was mistaken. 8 V30's at full blast might destroy my upper register hearing.
I definitely need the second 412 for stereo rig of doom (and looping).

I guess these guys have proper worldwide distribution, are going to do us a ballerass PR campaign and provide some sort of concrete 'tour support'. We'll see what those last bits end up meaning but seeing unchecked demand for this first record is really rad. Never woulda thought it.
Very cool, D. You guys definitely deserve it
Sounds great and looks snazzy too.

That's all kinds of awesome.
Also missed quoting some shit, so rad bass, Corey...and get those cabs, Sam.

I'm wondering if a FAC can be put into the tone circuit in a bass. Any reason aside from space that this would not work?

You could put a cap in series with your signal on a bass. Dont know why you would want to. Better to make a pedal that does it so its not permanently on your bass

Basically the idea came out of having a bass with actives that will be going to passives. so the whole circuit board tone/active bs is going away. that leaves 5 holes in the bass where the old controls were and 2 empty holes, and a giant route in the bass that will now be largely unused. I was just wondering if it would be feasable. Perhaps a toggle with different values for caps would be a better way to go?

Yea you could fit in a whole rotary most likely.

I went to post a big multiquote catch up the other day and give congrats to Daz on the warlocks happenings as well as big hugs for the mojo sent about the AOR but my fucking iPad ate it.
In lieu of that, THANK YOU, DARREN AND CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR AWESOME NEWS!
Also, as Ax mentioned, too much cool shit going down to even catch up on.
Nic Belor, I'm gonna ride your ass about an Australian tourbox until you send me a Holy Mountain and Heavy Stone to play with. Seriously, do it.
Also my family has booked a camping trip over the G20 weekend. So relieved to a)finally be going camping and b) getting the fuck out of town while that pig-Fest, shit shoot is going down.

tour box would be tittys.
Thanks again nic for your thoughts. Means a lot to have someone who has a clue give their input to an idea. I'll have to trace the cavity and see how it looks space wise. I think it will work and might be fun to try.

Got me thinking about the different ways to approach it. Perhaps a toggle to bypass, and then a rotary, or maybe I could adapt a 3 pos switch to bypass and then the two best cap value options might be enough? I'll completely over complicate this if the bass's owner lets me.

the KISS principle is one I advocate but frequently fail to adhere to.
