It was a blast! Got to meet up with Aen, and Mike from Effect or Die, some old DC friends, and some dudes from Instagram that I'd been talking to for a long while.
Only shitty parts were the 3 flights of stairs, the rain, and the traffic getting there.
Solid sets all around from everyone. Modular sets, my guitar set, Aen's pedal set. Longs of hnnnng time and trying out everyone's gear. Was a blast

Wish stuff like this happened around me
I know Aen is not far from Minneapolis, hopefully he has some connections to organize some drone stuff here. I just need to get out and find the right people.

Do you know if anyone did any video/audio recording of the event?

So I have a couple of the Tech 21 character series and those are all dirt pedals, but can drive a power amp. Then I have my Dunwich modified ACC 140/150 preamp and that has some big fancy parts in it (transformer? Inductor? I dunno...Nick?). So is it really crazy difficult to make a normal sized pedal run as either a dirt pedal into the front of an amp or drive a power amp? It would be interesting to see some of you boutique guys make some similar sized/type amp type pedals of more unusual designs, like the high gain Matamp/Electric or modified Soldano, Sunn Beta, etc.

Corey has a preamp with a PT that puts about 50-60V out so he can swing probably 20V amplitude on the output, more than enough to drive tube or SS preamps.
I did make a beta-bass preamp that ran off a 9V tap and used charge pumps to create a +-17V supply and that could drive a power amp as well.

Plus that HHGTG preamp for RonRipper.

Corey, Sam, it was sooo much fun! Massive hang time too.
I think Mike from Effect or Die might have recorded some brief clips, but I'm not sure if they came out or not- the first one he uploaded lost the sound. Not sure if the others that he recorded experienced a similar fate

Were you performing something that you've recorded before or just an improvised drone set?

It was improvised. I had an idea in my head, but of course it just went completely out the window when I started playing. Lots of looping and layering with heavy slow playing under it

man that looks killer!
The cool thing about a GOOD preamp is you can use it to make any amp that cant inherently sound like that, sound like that. We are currently using a Meatsmoke pre into the CL400 and it really takes that thing thing from being good, but kinda vanilla, into holy shitballs Batman! kinda territory. to my ear it is now as good sounding as an actual meatsmoke, with a bit more balls.
