I still want to find one when the time is right.

Well shit, here we goooooo
Fuck! Is this gonna be a thing? I was gonna build a hizumatas clone from pedalpcb but now…
Even if Jero shared a couple of secret sauce notes that’d be rad sticks.

Have you tried the W&C Elk to have any impression of the differences?

I have two Wren and Cuff White Elks. Both large and small box. They're both packed far away and in storage. So, my memories of them aren't fresh enough to make a direct comparison to the Hizumitas. They're all definitely firmly in the Elk Muff family. Can't say which I like better until I have 'em side by side. The Hizumitas may have a slight edge on the competition though.

It may be a little louder and have a bit more gain? I can't quite remember. Suffice to say, I

'em all.

The impression i get from demos is that htehizumatas has somewhat more present midrange or something? The Elk tone knob is extreme though. Mostly I've listened to the demo with Wata herself and I liked the lower gain settings most so that's what I remember.
And the DS-1 stacking

Yeah, I like the lower gain sounds too. I currently have the Sustain set at noon. It's not a "low gain" Muff though. Even when set real low it's still pretty gainy.
I've stacked a bunch of different pedals into the Hizumitas. They all sound great. It takes other dirt pedals well.
