Every grocery store around me has only had limp dick asparagus for the last three weeks. Thin spears are bullshit.

Thin spears are great for quick roasting under the broiler until browning is apparent. Prep with olive oil, salt, minced or crushed garlic, and maybe some dry herbs.

I like to roast it with just olive oil and salt/pepper, then shave some parmesan flakes on top right as I pull it from the oven. I just like the snap of thick asparagus more.

For the quick broiler method I use, thick spears don’t completely cook consistently enough. With thin spears cook time is like ten minutes tops. Lower temp, longer roasting time for you?

Thin spears for life. Actually, we had big ol' thick ones last night and they were great. My wife roasted them at a higher temp than I normally do, as well as used more oil. They came out really yummy. That being said, I like the ration of crispy seasoning to asparagus of the thin ones.

Yo I really miss having a toaster oven. We're moving in a few months and I really hope for enough counter space to make one happen. It always feels ridiculous to fire up the oven just to roast some veggies for lunch.

Totally miss the toaster oven. Bought my first one for my second apartment on the top floor of the building in Austin so I could roast garlic in summer.

I'll have to ask my mom, but she does a great recipe of roasted aspargus with bacon (I think?). I always forget the recipe because II don't much care for asparagus myself, but everytime I bring em to a party or holiday meal, they're usually gone within 10 minutes

I've only turned on my real oven a couple of times in the last year, it's nice to not heat up my entire house to bake a chicken breast and potatoes.
