im going to be as honest as i can. . .

fuck reverb pedals. if youre a fan of reverb you owe it to yourself to find a tube reverb unit.

holy. god.

I know, man. A dream setup would definitely include a tube reverb head. Dr. Z have a pretty awesome looking one, but I don't know many others who are currently making them. What did you get yourself?

My only problem is that I have yet to hear a tube reverb that does more than just drippy spring tones. Which I love, but I want moar.

NAD thanks to the peer pressure from you guys in the ebay watch thread

It's a little bright but such loud, much wow. Could even run on the dirt channel without a pedal pushing it and bring teh doomz. Very good amp for the money. It's surprisingly light too if you need to lug it around.

I've probably mentioned it before, but I cannot stand Orange amps.

They're everywhere in ATL, as the U.S. part of the company, but I just cannot stand that squish.

That sounded bad. I'm sorry. I just meant for me. Others have made them sound awesome.

Not dual, just placed on top of each other due to lack of physical space. This is all confined to my bedroom

I'm developing a theory that people either love or dislike Orange. One of the employees at GC was surprised that I was buying it, not thinking that it could bring teh heavies. I told her wait until you see what I can do with it :animal:

It's probably a bit of a different beast than a tube orange.

From what I understand a few American breweries distribute to Australia but they're pretty crazy pricey. And Australia's got a few craft breweries that are supposed to be pretty good.

The thing about the US's craft beer boom is I think we win no matter what. At a certain point if a brewery is bad to mediocre and they aren't at least trying to innovate or improve they're going to go under in the next few years. We'll be left with less beer, but there will be just as much if not more GOOD beer. I do feel bad for the business owners if they go under, though

This. There are far too many getting started up right now, but the end result will be the really stellar breweries will stick around while the rest will wash out. What I've been noticing around Wilmington is that there is a big push here for completely local spots - like four small scale breweries have opened (or are in the process) recently and non have plans to bottle and distribute beyond growler fills and kegs to local bars/restaurants. A couple have close ties (or will be literally connected to) restaurants/event venues. Wilmington only has like 150k people, but we were recently ranked the 10th drunkest city in the country (based on per capita consumption per year), so it will be interesting to see how it all turns out. Either way, I am excite, since all these folks make hella tasty brews.

It seems like new Oranges are one of those amps that's fairly easy to make sound like poop, and a lot of people do just that, so it gets a bad rap (like Dual Rectos—two channel ones on the orange "vintage" channel = bliss). And that makes them really easy to write off.

However, when folks are able to find that sweet spot on them, it's something that I can really get behind. Too bad it's a somewhat rare event.

Goddamn, I wish Wicked Weed would distro outside of NC. Their quality control isn't great but god damn when their bottles are on, they're fucking ON POINT.
