Good call on a Sleep headliner. I bet something like Red Fang too.

Oh, and got my E-Wiz tix too. I did see them last time they were out in LA. Good damn show. Acid King, Goatsnake, and Warhorse for support. Danzig was there and I farted on him. He's so little.

I definitely think Sleep will be announced as a headliner. Maybe Baroness or Mastodon? Regardless, great line up.

Since I'm in Grand Rapids we're constantly battling Asheville over Beer City rights. And by constantly battling I mean that we tied in 2012 and took the gold in 2013. Probably based on a little brewery called Founders.

In any event... I've been meaning to try some of my competitors crops. Just need to see who distributes up here.

I actually didn't know that about Grand Rapids - Founders is fucking delicious though. I've not made it to (h)Ashville since they were recognized, but I've been itching to go and say hi to the folks at Blackout Effectors, drink some Highland brew, and tour the Moog factory. Fuck, I kinda want to move to Asheville now. If you get the chance, check out some of Highland's stuff - I've yet to be disappointed.

Just checked...

Close city I can get Highland is Cincinnati. Ya know... Only like a 6-hour trip. :picard:

Sometimes I feel like Michigan has so many awesome breweries that we're not getting fuck all brought into the state. Goddamnit.

NC > Ohio for wild/sour beers but for hoppy beer it's no contest, Ohio hands down. Though Hop Drop N Roll and Freak of Nature are SO FUCKING GOOD

I fucking <3 Asheville though

Asheville is about halfway for each of us - we shall meet there for fisticuffs. I've not had a sour beer in a long time...I should give one a shot to see if I've acquired the taste.

Wicked Weed Genesis on tap was a game changer for me for sours. Their QC is spotty so bottles are a little iffy at times but their brewpub is on point.

I'm ok with Highland but we don't get much of their best stuff here :(

Trying to raise funds for a tour van so I put my Quantum Mystic in the b/s/t. If any of you doods snag it, I'll throw in a record of your choice from my label.

Just another reminder that the Quantum Mystic sounds INCREDIBLE going into a Marshall-flavored amp

Yeah - I saw some of their stuff at Jungle Jim's (aka the greatest goddamn grocery store in the world) when I was up there last week. I've liked all of their stuff except the porter, but I don't like porters.

I was talking to one of the dudes who recently opened a brewery here and he was talking about how hard it is to get distribute out of state. I imagine it's even harder to find someone to bother with taking a chance on you if they already have a ton of great local beers.

I'll have to give it a shot. We don't even get Wicked Weed stuff outside of a couple of specialty shops on this side of the state - my preferred shop sometimes has their stuff on tap, so I will keep an eye out and get a growler fill next time it's available. Do you guys get Natty Green's in TN? I've developed an unhealthy obsession with their winter ale. One of their IPAs is pretty tasty as well...can't remember which one it was though.

No we do not, but I will keep an eye out for it if I'm in NC anytime soon.

Also look out for Serenity and any of their Brettanomyces IPAs because those beers are absolutely fantastic.

Yeah, I agree that Sleep will be a forgone conclusion. If Ufomammut is playing with Conan a matter of days after this festival, I see no reason why they could not be at Psycho California as well. Which would be awesome. I am actually going to come down from Washington state for this, based on the non headlining bands alone. Got Electric Wizard tickets yesterday as well. Tickets for the Seattle show are just sitting there! Morons.

Just checked out Fryette's new website. The Memphis is now $2500 and the Aether is $4495. Damn. Glad I nabbed my Memphis before the massive price bump. Best fucking amp ever. I missed a D60 for £900 from the UK retailer, though. I imagine if he gets any more they'll be a lot more than £900. But $4495 for the Aether, that's insane. That said, if anyone were to inspire me to spend that much on an amp, it would be Stephen fucking-mad-hatter Fryette. I kinda guessed there would be a price bump, to be honest—they needed it—but I hope they don't completely change everything and go all 'boutique' and shit.

Also, they are missing a bunch of products like the pedals—which I absolutely love and am shocked no one else seems to be using—the Valvulator 2, another hidden gem that genuinely makes your pedal chain feeeeeeel like a roaring tube amp instead of small boxes and a tube amp, and the Sig:X, which I think is being revamped. I imagine its price has also shot up. It was a steal in the first place.

I also noticed their new attenuator. Pretty excited about that. Would go nicely atop my incoming Dunwich as a makeshift FX loop or atop my Fryette for super thrashy distortion tones at slightly lower volumes. Again, pricey, but I trust that dude's mental instability. Him and Nick.
