that would be epic!

im still waiting on my matamp...im really considering converting the cab to stereo and running two heads into it...superbass for cleans and matamp for dirt (with gain maxed) wih the black forrest pushing it.

Picked up a not working Classic 400 for $250 this weekend, the dude at the shop said it's been there its whole lifetime and just stopped working like a month ago. I'm assuming it's a fuse issue or something else small because nothing on the inside looks fried or anything. Any ideas what might be wrong before I take it to the tech? It won't power on.

When we tried it out and nothing at all lit up I know theres atleast one fuse blown. The main fuse looked like it had a paper cover instead of glass (so i think its a ceramic) so I couldn't tell by looking at it and I didn't want to take it apart.

Doing a quick google search, theres a 22ohm resistor on the triac that can cause this to happen, or apparently (on the same amp at a later time) the thermal fuse in the PT can blow. So I have a feeling it will be something fuse related.

That old church would be awesome to convert into a recording studio. Also, my dad would have a field day with doing a project like that. It's all old stained wood paneling interiors and traditional weight and pulley double hung windows, that's his jam.

What's the church supposed to be used for? Great job on the remodel, it looks awesome.

Anyone have experience with the single coil alumitones? I'm considering them heavily for my bass vi. I'm looking for really big/clear cleans and pretty full range cleans, and to be able to handle dirt well. The humbucker in the neck of Skip's jazzmaster definitely gets heavy as fuck, but do the singles?

Fucking SCORE! As others have said, fuses are the likely culprit. The only issue I've had with mine was the result of loaning it to a band who's gear had beer spilled on it during our set. Bassist assured me his cab could handle the power and it didn't, blowing at least one of the speakers and the peaveys fuses blew seconds later. Simply replaceing them had it back to fully working in no time.

I'd be very careful about making sure there are no other damaged parts before firing it up, but it seems likely to me that someone wanted to try it and they used a shit cab for demo, damaging things.

AFAIC that's a lifetime amp. No need for anything else on the bass front. just huge defined low end. A Meatsmoke pre makes it even better as it seems to tighten up the mids and highs as well. That could just be settings and gear with the different bassists though.

That church looks awesome. I've always wanted to buy an old church and live in it.
