Some things in music are obviously inspired. There is a famous interview with Ozzy in which he talks about how Black Sabbath’s sound evolved in the early days: “We were just a blues band and then it took on an ELEMENT OF DOOM…”

So, In the spirit of that early pioneering of heavy metal, we have created the EOD88. With 3 gain modes, KT88 power design and a built in fuzz circuit, this amp personifies old school but within a fresh modern approach and appeal.

DOOM amp, all tube all tube 12AX7/KT88 with 3 switchable gain modes, built in fuzz circuit, discrete class A instrument level loop, footswitch included-Limited Edition RED covering.

Don't love the art on it, it's not awful, but could be better. Sounds like it could be awesome though, wonder what they used for the built-in fuzz?

Probably a meathead or a big muff.

I hate to be that guy but I really think that amp looks really cheap. In a bad way.

I love dem knobs. The artwork is kinda meh, but Randall amps are kicking all sorts of ass these days.

If it's priced in the $700 range like the Diavlo then I will definitely pick one up. I'm kinda curious as to whether or not they will release a 4x12 with matching tolex though. My OCD is kinda a lil bitch sometimes haha If tone wise it lives up to expectations it would make a great pairing with my Diavlo.

Always critical of the aesthetics huh? Just curious but what would you have said if it had green tolex? :p

I do agree the graphics are kinda cheap and cheesy but as Barr said Randall has been kicking some ass tone wise lately.

Interesting concept, I'll be interested in hearing the eventual demo videos. I'm a little dubious about genre specific style amps, but Randall has been back in great form lately.

Is that 100 watts? I wonder how useable the fuzz is, but the layout of the controls looks great. Super clean, and the stacked depth/presence gives it just enough variation. I like how they did the whole OrMat thing without being a direct rip off. The graphics/red tolex I could live without though.

KT88s? A faceplate that I can cover with stickers and not feel bad about it? Red tolex? Colour me intrigued...

According to Randall's website it's 88 [unstoppable] watts

It's "88 watts" basically its a 2xkt88 power amp. Yeah the usability and type of fuzz is definitely a need to know.

It's supposedly circuit wise NOT based on Orange / OrMat though from what mr Fortin has said in interviews. So I wonder what it is based on, considering all the Ozzy speak in the description I'm guessing its some kind of Laney ripoff actually. Maybe some kind of Klipp variant? Didn't that amp have a switchable fuzz section and clean / gain channels like this amp?

wow...go Randall...i love their stuff.

i dont mind the graphics or the red tolex...but if I had a choice i wouldnt want it. It depends on price really...and if it sounds as good as they say, the asthetics could be rectified quite easily into a minimalist verellen type shell.

If this is a Klipp variant I'm really interested. Does anyone here use a colorsound one knob fuzz style pedal for doomy stuff? I picked one up for super cheap the other day and haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

Yes. The Ritual is a flavor of the Colorsound one-knob fuzz (which is basically a fuzz face without the 'volume' knob, and the meathead is pretty similar too). Sounds fucking amazing for guitar -- and if you like really aggressive tones on bass, it's good for that too.

Green tolex would be like a million times better (obvs.) but to be honest it's not the graphics or the tolex: the thing that's really grossing me out about it is the knobs. And that's such a stupid fucking thing to be a wanker about, but they really look lame as fuck to me.
