I think the Ritual is based on that colorsound 1 knob fuzz isnt it? if so, I use one sometimes. Its plenty fat and thick, can lose definition with chords, but has a very cool character to it.

btw...just been reading the lates post on FCOAW...about the amptweaker fatmetal...doom distortion pedal!

Donuts you say? Well. I am somewhat of an expert! Yeah it's not funny or heartwarming but when my dog Marco died I lost my mind and sought comfort in garbage food. Particularly donuts. Here's the rundown. You got your basic mom 'n pop donut shops and you got your fancypants hipster donut shops. For the expensiveass hipster nouveau chic impressive donuts there's Top Pot and Mighty O. Mighty O donuts are both vegan and organic and despite not caring one bit about either of those things (in the realm of donuts!) I'd say Mighty O is king of donuts in these parts. Top Pot is is certainly fancy and delicious but there's a Starbucks affiliation there so for me, NOPE. The mom 'n pop places are all pretty standard except for Aurora Donuts. I know I just said that Mighty O is the best but really Aurora Donuts is my favorite. The deal with them is they were once a Dunkin Donuts. But DD pulled out of this region decades ago. So the owners just changed the name and kept the recipes. So aside from a few modern gems like bacon maple bars this place is nothing but ancient Dunkin recipes and THAT SHIT RULES. Plus the lowbrow scene is like deadly nightshade to the whole Volvo SUV crowd which is a total plus. The other mom 'n pop shops are just fine but not special and I personally think all those cornyass street fair type mini donuts are bullshit but hey, different strokes.

Me too. I grew up in school band but I was always so busy trying to be a bad boy that once we got to key signatures (7th grade?) I just said "fuck this I'll memorize these dumb songs". I mean he couldn't afford to fire a perfectly capable trombone player so I just did shitty on tests and slayed the weak music. It just got worse when I switched to tuba in high school. Anyway I took a college class when I was 27 but it was impossibly annoying being around a bunch of 18 year old nerds so that was a dead end. I've recently broken out my text book from that though and am trying to dedicate a half an hour a day. So far I know nothing.

I know! Of course! I was just talking the other day about how I'd have offered a place to stay weeks ago but my dog is old, fucked up and dying. And I'm sorry to hear about Bijou the kitty. Pets are the best and losing them is the worst.

AxAxSxS wrote:Trackin that one too. Some friends are playing next door that night, "Besties" lol. Considering who is in it, that should be epic, and Lozen is headlining that. I do believe there may be some attempt to coordinate set times to match your set, as I know there are a bunch who want to catch both. CAN. NOT. FUCKING. WAIT. should be an insane night.

They almost always do coordinate when there's dual shows which is more and more often which is RAD. Hey the Black Lodge is one thing. It's cool enough I guess. The Victory Lounge is pretty okay too. But when the two of them have the dual show thang hitting, that corner becomes the best place in town. If only the Lo-Fi (next door to the Black Lodge on the other side) would join in for the Triple Threat. But it's kinda nice having all the dolled up EDM chicks hanging around.

awesome Darren...when do you get the Prince??

I know what you mean about the boring classes...thats what puts me off. The most theory i have learned was when i went through a bit of a blues kick and watched videos on Youtube teaching licks and they explained some stuff...but after a while that got really boring too.

I was going to wait on the actual circuit board but since the amp is now paid for I moved it up in the queue by telling him that a modified Avenger board would be fine. I've played five different ones and they all had the same modified Avenger board and the new board will be no different electrically speaking. I may have it by the end of next week :animal: :animal: :animal: :animal: :animal: :animal: :animal:

Dude FuzzFace designs are my fav, they need the right amp tho. I think they are very very good with OR/GT type amps. So crushing.

Always critical of the aesthetics huh? Just curious but what would you have said if it had green tolex? :p

I do agree the graphics are kinda cheap and cheesy but as Barr said Randall has been kicking some ass tone wise lately.

Green tolex would be like a million times better (obvs.) but to be honest it's not the graphics or the tolex: the thing that's really grossing me out about it is the knobs. And that's such a stupid fucking thing to be a wanker about, but they really look lame as fuck to me.

Interesting, I kinda like the knobs. I could definitely go for a non-graphic front panel but I'm sure with some creative thinking that could be fixed.

Yes. The Ritual is a flavor of the Colorsound one-knob fuzz (which is basically a fuzz face without the 'volume' knob, and the meathead is pretty similar too). Sounds fucking amazing for guitar -- and if you like really aggressive tones on bass, it's good for that too.

Aggressive tones are pretty much all I use lately, and I feel like it'll play better with the single coils in the VI than my supercollider. I can't manage to get muffs sounding right with the VI/V4 combo at all, but super fuzz and distortion are both rad. I hope this solves the issue.

Accidentally deleted my reply. But, I love Mighty O's. Always a stop when we go up there. Thanks for the other suggestions!

The Cthulhu fuzz which i believe is in the vein of the fuzzface / colorsound one knobbers is all over the Nanshe album. :poke:

Fuck Yeah D! I've been wanting to hear one of those since you described them to me. It's like the perfect amp. when is the first show you might be able to use it? Dont say 23rd :D AND HOLY SHIT AURORA DONUTS IS DUNCAN RECIPES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is like the one fucking thing I miss from the east coast.

Christian you guys could probably crash here, Downsides are, I'm not in Seattle (Tacoma 45 min to an hour away) and I have 3 dogs that are spazzes. So I should probably be a last resort.

not really a fan of the look. I'm not sure what it is but the individual things that I might of liked combine to make it look..... cheap. Yep that's the right word.

Agreed. If it's cheap and sounds good, though, I'd probably consider snagging one (once they're available on the used market) and putting a new faceplate on it. I love my V2, but I'd prefer not to tour with amps that are 40 years old if possible. That said, I'd be REALLY surprised if it was enough to knock any of my old amps out of the live rotation.
