Goddammit, that distortion sounds hella good.

Can't wait for my physical copy to get here in the mail:

Did you write that? Very cool either way and I followed the blog over on wordpress to catch new stuff when it's posted

Yep. Something about a toddler in the house makes drinking the absolute best and worst thing you can do. I still drink a couple most nights, but haven't gotten properly drunk in a looooong time.

Old Rasputin is one of my favorite stouts. Russian Imperial all the way motha fuckas!!!
Old Rasuptin is so delicious. Sierra's Narwhal is actually really good too. And you're right - Russian Imperial is the correct kind of stout.

Whenever I hear people talking about all these different brews all I can equarte it to is which version of the Klon Jesus prefers for the most transparent tone to have on Sunday Gilmour worship. Its just dumb. I drank a bottle of Summer's Eve once on a dare and it tasted just like a room temperature Pabst Blue Ribbon. And fuck adding chocolate, lemons, or anything else to it.

Old Rasputin is the jam.
I'm going to Three Floyd's this weekend for Dark Lord Day, the heavy metal release of their Russian Imperial Stout. I'm not actually crazy about the beer despite its homage to my lord and master.
That being said it is an excellent opportunity to see Kylesa, Pallbearer, Obituary and Corrosion of Conformity. Yay for me.

I honestly felt like that (for the most part) before I moved to Colorado. My friends who are brewers have introduced me to so many different kinds of beer that I did a full 180 and am now on board with the nuances in different beers (or even different batches of the same beer).
On that note, anytime any of y'all are visiting/touring through Denver, hit me up and we'll go drink some killer beers at TRVE. Zach, the drummer in Khemmis, is the head brewer there and makes some of the most badass beer ever. Plus, they're always named/themed after metal bands.

I might have to take you up on that offer. I might come to Denver to visit family soon.

Old Rasputin is the beer in my profile pic.
I'm actually not much of a fan of it. It's not that great of a stout.
It tastes like a Spaten Optimator mixed with an Arrogant Bastard.
Now, that Rogue Double Chocolate Stout is delicious.

so I had in my mind that when i get to Oz, i would sell my old thrasher Washburn guitar...as i used the some of the funds in advance for my new amp.
last night i got the guitar out of the wardrobe and set it up, tuned it up...and played it. The fucker sounds really good tuned to D...i have a feeling its got some vintage dimarzio's in it (early 80's)...and the Kahler trem is aftermarket, but its a real one, not a cheap one. The thing is, i never use a trem anymore...and the V-shaped neck feels strange in my hand...but its been thrashed to hell with all types of dents and scratches all over it, preperly relic'd and I kinda like that about it. its the only guitar I have that doesnt look in new condition...because i had this guitar when i was in my teens and didnt care if i damaged it, and I did, but it survived and looks cool.
what should i do??? Should I sell or keep??
Not even sure how much I would get for it...the Kahler fit out is pretty poor and you can see the imperfect routing around the base of the bridge and the locking nut is really badly done too...and with all the scratches and paint chips, not sure if anyone would even want it.
pics for reference...

i think i'm leaning that way too...i guess the fact that i even asked means that i dont really want to sell it.
i will have to sell something when my shit arrives...i'll cross that path when i get to it...

Nah, I just saw they posted it on their fb.
Sam, that Washburn is badass! I'm in a similar predicament as far as selling my 'first' guitar or not. I have a LTD with EMG pickups and a floyd rose bridge that I basically hate... but I don't have the skills or tools to replace it with a hard tail bridge... I guess this is a good place to ask actually - any guitar builders / modders that would be willing to do this? I'm in Southeast Michigan now, and will be moving to Portland in September...

Which Portland? (the wrong one, no doubt).
TITD tonight, Cortez tomorrow. Will be good to listen to heavy guitar music again.
