Hey up intill I started this project I never like kept up on RIC due to $$$ I didn't even want to look  So yeah I am totally out of the loop... but then it seems most people are if you take a lot of the "tone" issues people seem to have with RICs :idk:

Oh and I am totally going to put fucking flats on it :thumb:

Was wondering what happened to this project. I like the PG covering up to the bridge pickup. What pickups did you decide on?

Modern high gain set. It took me a while to decide on the neck pickup: high gain VS humbucker... but in the end my thinking was if I wanted something other then a "normal" ric why I did buy a ric in t first place

The way I am doing it is a little cheaper.. not much but a little.. As long as you don't give a fuck about a logo and sr# and just want it to play...

yeah I saw that body on ebay and almost pulled the trigger. I just dont think I have the patience to acquire a bass piece by piece. I LOVE the color though not to many red rics out there.

:idk: I find it fun.. You know I always thought I'd end up with a red one for some reason :idk: First one I ever saw was a ruby red one.. I like the berg a lot better. I also really like how beat up it is. I don't trust instruments that are 30+ years old and don't have a lot of play ware.. it says to me that it didn't sound all that great vs one like this one where the finish is worn off at the 5th and 7th on the back of the neck, someone played the shit out of blues/rock in A on this thing :thumb:

I got a reply from Pickguardian... basically "we can't do truss rod covers due to legal issues" Might have to just make my own...

I think for anyone who has use for more than like, 3 pikguards/truss rod covers in their life a bandsaw (or is it jig saw) would be a good investment. You gonna make money back toot-sweet, especially on "weird" guards.
