Why exactly do you guys say a Jazz Bass doesn't count?

Also, cross post from my NGD thread.

1. AVRI '62 Reissue Jazzmaster
2. J. Mascis Jazzmaster
3. Jag-Stang (apparently considered "modern offset")
4. pawnshop Jazz copy (not sure who made it)

I said 3 for my '65 Mustang, MIM Jazz bass, and Univox Hi-flier bass. I also have a strat and a Peavey T-60. Used to have a BC Rich Warlock bass that I played in my high school band, but not with my metal band during that same time. Always play against type.

The only guitar I'm gassing for is the new Vox SSC55, which is not offset but WANT SO BAD.

I voted 3 and then realized I actually have 4.
My Warmoth JM, custom BA Ferguson bass, Squire VM Jag bass, a janky Peavey starter pack Jazz bass.

Edit: Wait, are Duo-Sonics offset? If so, then I have 5.

I've got a beat to crap 1976 Bronco I need to get back into playing condition. Actually I guess a Bronco is not an offset....just a short scale. Oh well.

This, a million times over.

If that is a Rick pickup between two Jazzies, then it is my dream bass. DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

It is! It's an HB-1, so the bass (essentially) has 3 humbuckers. The other two are Dimarzio Model Js.
The HB-1 is really mellow compared to the J's and interacts nicely with fuzz. I guess it's in the territory of a more P-like sound. It also combines well when paired with the neck or bridge; if the J is a brick to the face then the HB-1/J is...it's a Sock 'Em Bopper filled with ball bearings. Takes the edge off, a little.

My only regret is that I could have moved the HB-1 further towards the neck because the low and high strings are ever so slightly quieter than the middle two. It's more of an OCD thing for me, though.

Also it took me FOREVER to refinish but I admire it every single time I look at it! Totally worth the pain! Thanks dudes!

That Jazzstang and those Yamahas are all stone killers man. Nice squad you've got there. Love the little swoop in the Yamaha pickguards between the pickups.
