This is why I don't post on TalkBass like the rest of you doochees.
Bigchief, when I was looking at these I remembered digging the G&L you got (at least I think it was you?).
What model was that?
I'm also open to any other double humbucker Bass suggestions that can be had
NEW in this price range.

L-2500 Tribute. I think that the standard price on them is around 800, but I got BassNW to match an internet price for 620

When I look at P basses, I think "Would Colin Greenwood play this?", and if the answer is no then it's not a real P bass.

Or, since you're talking four strings, L-2K tribute, $670 on Amazon, free shipping. I love me some G&L.

D'OH! Yeah, I completely forgot we were talking about 4-bangers. Yeah, the L-2000 Tribby is what you want to look at. Fantastic sounding basses, beefiest fucking pickups I've ever heard.

That's the one! I really wish they had it in walnut like BC's but if you can't tell already, I do like black

Do you doods think it's worth $250-$300 more than the Fenders?

Absolutely, No question...... For FUccckkss sake YES.
G&L fucking RULEZZZ. USA or Tribute, they are SOLID as shit. My USA L-2000 was my main gigging bass waaay back for around 7 years. It's proven its tone and reliability 100x over.

Buy a Ric
No seriously get which ever one has a neck you like. Or get a Squire and fill from the neck to the bridge with pickups (Bootsy style)
They both look pretty cool.

Hell to the yes. I played a bunch of the 4-500 dollar Fenders a few months ago when I was looking for my second bass. The G&L blows them out of the water in both sound and feel.

Yeah, I could only find it at one retailer though.
Maybe they will still have it when I'm ready to buy.
