The dano TO is a timmy/tim clone...can find demos of the dano or the paul c. timmy all over the net
Very transparent, sounds like your amp etc...low to medium gain at best. Stacks very well with other pedals too.

Considering that Paul C. designed the Timmy/Tim back in the early-mid 90's when nobody really gave a crap about "transparent" overdrives, and the boutique industry was practically non-existant, the timmy is original. Paul keeps his prices terribly low for the work he puts, I don't know if you could charge less for a pedal like that without outsourcing your labor to a third world country and ripping off somebody elses designs :idk:

Thats the thing there aren't any noisier settings. Devi's video and my video on the main site pretty much show it all. I'd make another video but I traded it recently due to coming upon a truly beautiful disaster.

I would touch a Dano dirt pedal but I might not mind a little tremolo.
There's also the Reel Echo which is really kick ass (IMO):http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Danelectro-Reel-Echo-Tape-Simulator-Pedal?sku=151903

How much is a proper Timmy actually? I would rather get the real pedal, but I'm on such a budget, I'll likely have to get 2 pedals since I doubt a Transparent OD is going to give me crazy tones.

$129 shipped, which is cheaper than a devi 3knob fuzz. 4knobs and internal dip switches to change the clipping
http://www.myspace.com/paulcaudio for more info. He prefers taking phone orders...really nice guy who will shoot the shit with you and explain anything you want to know about the pedal or how it might work for you.

It WON'T give you crazy sounds, I can assure you heh. Devi fuzzes do sound cool stacked with it though.

Dano is changing the TO circuit (and a few others like the fuzz) since they admitted it was stolen, not sure when the new ones are rolling out.

Sorry, didn't mean to make this another Dano-ripped-people-off thread. Too many of those already.

Man I don't know. I really need a pedal to help give me Daniel ash kinda tones and it seemed like the Transparent OD was the way to go. I'd feel guilty buying it knowing he also makes an effort for cheapness, but it's still out of my price range ATM, recession and all. The Soda Meiser sounds pretty good though in terms of having the scrambly effect but it's a bit warmer and thticker to my ears.

The 33 sounds very nice to my ears at the moment but the decay is very short.
