Yup, family is down there and there are more jobs. Its only three hours away but he still makes it up regularly for practice and all so hopefully he won't get tired of that drive.

Yeah its just the screw holes at that point. Hmmmmmm maybe series / parallel / kill, so you have low output humbucker / high output humbucker / easy quiet?

TSiB is an absolute musical masterpiece for sure, but theres something about the raw hunger and creativity used on Enemy of the Sun that does it for me. Raze the Stray and Cleanse are my top two favorite tracks from them, followed by Takehanse from Souls at zero.

Yeah, I may do that wiring option. When you had yours did you keep the 250k pots or did you use 500 since it was a humbucker? Speaking of humbuckers, I put my Black winter in the bridge of my LP Standard and holy fuck. I love the Duncan Distortion that was in it but the Black winter sounds a lot better. More clarity but not necessarily brighter. Still nice and thick with better articluation.

Enemy of the Sun is my second favorite of theirs but only by a narrow margin. That whole album is so fucking heavy.

Fuck yeah for Matamps!!!

Awesome Skip, that's a double win. I need to get a new Warpig for one of my guitars, I miss the one that was in the LP Custom I traded to Nick.

I just got an email today from Atlas that my 612 should be shipping next week.

I did 500k pots as thats what Seymour Duncan had recommended for that pickup. Mine was just pickup > volume > ouput jack though.

Sweet shit on the BW in the LP!!! The reason for the clarity is because the BW has more mid content than the DD.

Yeah man, EOTS wins barely over TSIB. TSIB has the musicality and the genius sequencing, but the raw emotion and hunger in EOTS is what pushes it over the edge for me.

Yeah dude, freakin EXCITED!!!!! it may not eb the real deal but considering only 21 Roadster's were ever made I will settle for a clone.

Thanks Corey!!! I'm intrigued to hear it as I've only had a neck version, so far out of all the bridge pickups I've ever tried the Duncan Distortion and Black Winters have been my fav, even over the few Bare Knuckles I've had (mule and painkiller). But the warpig from the site and reviews sounds like exactly what I want, and if its as good as the neck version I had in my old white telemaster then I'm sure I will be.

DO WHAT?!? Shit dude definitely post some pics up when it gets in!!!

I'm hoping that it comes in at the same time as Mr. Grumpy, which got delayed again because of the name badge getting damaged in shipping. It's black stained to match, loaded with WGS ET65's and ET90's. Don't worry, I'll take some tone henge shots when they're both in.

Dammit, now I want to try one. I picked up a DD and slapped it in that old ass lawsuit LP I picked up. It sounds phenomenal, but the Super 2 in the other guitar is just a little crisper, DD definitely carries the low end better. Now I wish the Black Winters weren't so tough to come by second hand. :(

I like all the Neurosis stuff so much it's hard to play favorites. Their set could be almost anything and it would be amazing.

Everyone's getting that good stuff coming in.

hell just about all my shit showed up today. my new Laney AOR 100 which I got to jam on today, my 2nd Sovtek Mig100H... which I have to pick up from the post office tmwr. and the 4 speakers for the coffin cab build I'm doing hopefully completed before a show in 2 weeks.

my favorites Neurosis is Times of Grace and Through Silver in Blood. my intro to them was with Through Silver in Blood. I just picked it up from relapse since it was one of their releases and I was pretty much sampling anything that looked like a cool cover and the write up on them was rather nice... enough for me to say fuck it and spend 12 bucks.

Nice! And yeah - there is no going back. If we look back we will get turned to stone and shit, old testament style.

Who were the standouts other than Elder?

Cough, Conan, The Shrine, Om, Sleep, Kylesa, Pallbearer, Lord Dying, Pentagram...many others that I'm forgetting.

I generally don't care about festivals, but I have been hella jealous of you dudes that made it to Psycho CA - looked like one hell of a lineup and tons of fun.

Hopefully we'll be heading up I-95 this summer / fall. We were wanting to go out in July but our drummer moved to Jacksonville so we're taking a little time to get used to being so spread out.

ShaunNecro wrote:Fuck guys... Something is up with the Sound City that I brought down from Michigan. I can tell that it isn't pushing out anywhere near 200 watts, as both my V4 and my Univox are surpassing it in volume easily. I ran a separate preamp directly into the power section, so I know the issue isn't in the preamp (which needs a little work anyways), but now I'm worried that the issue could be in the transformers, since it has been recapped and has new power tubes... Ugh.

Having heard a couple of these in person, it should be insanely loud. It's probably something like a bad connection, cold solder joint or something liek that. If there was a major issue there would be most likely no ouput or something similar.

There are actually several really shitty looking solder joints all on the KT88 pins, and the bias pots are shady at best. I would not care if I had to replace a bunch of components and reflow all those solder joints, just as long as those partridge transformers are still good. But then again, if everything was perfect on it, the guy I bought it from probably wouldn't have sold it.

Or ship it up to me and I'll adopt it. You got 'dat hot Univox. :thumb:

Man, the shipping costs alone would cover any tech, lol. Plus I need all the sexy amps so that I can look at them when I'm having sex.

I hope you get it fixed. I love mine and it's loud as fuck. I lucked out with a great deal on ebay, and that it had recently been serviced and new tubes and it was free shipping.

There are definitely metal bands that attract a decidedly non-metal audience. That's basically what 'hipster metal' is to me.

however I also found this:
Image

and this:
The term “hipster metal” is one thrown around by pockets of metalheads bemoaning the fact particular bands have fans that fall outside their self-prescribed rules of participation. This phenomenon isn’t new; the pejorative has simply changed from “posers,” “jocks” and “yeah-men” to “hipsters” as a way of singling out someone who’s listening to something that someone else doesn’t think they should be listening to. If you’re familiar with Deafheaven, Pallbearer, Baroness, Torche, Pelican, Wolves In The Throne Room, SunnO))) and the Sword, you’ll agree there’s little sonic similarity between any of them, but they’re all bands collectively lumped under the banner of “hipster metal.” That should clue you in on the ridiculousness of the term.
