Ok - that's what I thought. Plugging into a higher impedance cab = less volume. I only play at home these days, so that's not a huge deal.

are you downsizing from 2 rigs to 1??
I'm actually considering selling my Marshall...since I have the Matamp and the Orange Cr120 as back up...and i have a combo...so i dont really need the marshall...but its the sentimental value thats keeping me from selling it.

I did not need to hear that you were selling your Marshall.

Still in the red and cannot further dig downwards in my well of debt.
Otherwise I'd be molesting your inbox with my PMs.

well keep that in mind...im not selling yet.
the possible scenario is when I turn 40...next year, i will take my birthday money and sell the Marshall along with my edwards LP and get a 70's Gibson LP Custom...or something similar.

Did anyone else take advantage of the 20% off sale at Abominable? Got myself a Don't Shred on Me Deluxe and grabbed a Throne Torcher for my friend. Looking forward to trying them both out!

t-rey wrote:Also, what do you dudes think about the Peavey Standard amps from the 70s for guitar? Mostly interested in their clean toanz and ability to take the pedals. If the onboard dirt and reverb are decent/good that's a bonus.
These are what I'm talking about:

I am pretty sure this is what our bassist is using currently. He says he likes it on guitar as well, but I have not heard it to judge. On bass it is vicious, though. That + Fender bass + a rat = mammoth bass tones. This is through an old ass peavey 2x15. Gorgeous, dude.
....also, CHRISTIAN WHAT THE FUCK HOW THE HELL DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN?!?

That *is* a birth year amp for me. Don't tempt me.
Also: saw the Khemmis album on the Invisible Oranges list of this week's releases. Streaming it now. It's kicking my ass.

The plan currently is to just add another amp. Our house is currently for sale, so depending on what our new home is like, I may need to downsize, but that's doubtful at this point.
As much as I like your Marshall, can't say I blame you after hearing how good the Matamp clips were. Of course, that black/white dual rig is undeniably snazz as fuck.

Nice. It will be nice to have something that can handle bass as well. Not that I have a bass, but it would give me an excuse to pick one up. Those old Peavey cabs are pretty sweet too.

You are mentally ill if you sell that amp.
