 I'm aware of these dudes.

A) Transcending buzzwords? I think not.

B) They kind of sound like Tenacious D covering Corrosion of Conformity, and not so much in a good way.

Guys I saw an Alembic guitar in a store yesterday and thought of you. Not because it was $3000, but because it was a really dark walnut, with all brass hardware, what looked like bass strings (possible baritone?), and was beat to shit. Plus it weighed prolly 12+ lbs.

First time I had seen an alembic close up though.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

My bassist is totally hooking me up with a Dillion SG. I'm going to refinish it and I'm very excited about that.

Finally got my VTM 120 sold and got what I wanted to make from it after shipping and fees. Sold my big ole PT-2 pedalboard too. Now I just have to get my Ibanez ST50 sold and...I'll probably still wanna sell more old stuff to buy new stuff.

 This is why I refuse to describe flux as anything other than heavy. On occasion, when pressed, I will say "Well, we are kind of like progressive instant funeral shoe doom gaze" that tends to shut them up.

Way to transcend those buzzwords, Ax.

See, that's a description I can get behind. Any band that says "we sound like band X" invariably sounds to me like a shitty second-rate copy of band X.

I think most of them do even if they don't say it.

Boo kiddie porn.

Hooray Flux bus.

That band description sounded like nothing but cool buzz words they had read on the internet.

Still I love all the jokes and I hate subway.

got some lovely spam messages to Mauler one of the paragraphs:

"Coming from the fertile Western Massachusetts metal scene, Problem With Dragons combines punky, fuzz-laden stoner-rock riffs, sludge-filled bass, droning doom-metal vocals and science fiction based lyrics. The trio manages to transcend buzzwords, creating a holistic brand of hard driving rock & roll."

literally this tells me that they don't know what the fuck they are doing and I don't want to ever listen to them.

if a band wants me to listen to me they should just have one sentence "We sound like Grief" and that's it. just that and a link.
then I'd be like okay I'll go listen.

I think you can easily describe a band as "...for fans of Mastadon", or ..."not for fans of Mastadon"

that pretty much covers it.

Also Axx...that bus looks cool and comfy...all you need now is some wings and a jet motor and you can do cross country tours too!

I love how uncomfortably they nod their heads to the music.
