Yeah my board isn't one of the larger ones, but it does have ~50ft of (low capacitance, except for the coiled 1st 10ft length) cabling, 9 pedals.
When playing, either the first or second-in-chain fuzz boxes is always-on and fully open, buffering the signal. Also, I use single coils and my amp's "Normal" channel (jumped with the "Bass" ch) is glassy and bright so rolloff from capacitance is welcome.

Yep Hubby is just right. Effectrode PC-2A. Derived from the LA-2A we all know. Sounds fàaaaaat

I have 22-23 pedals on a board at any given time. I only notice a very slight difference if I plug direct vs through my board. Never used a buffer because I play active bass which has a buffer in the preamp. So no issues there.

However I always seem to have at least one pedal that is buffered bypass, and it's not on purpose. So that takes care of it as well. Dedicated buffer are a waste to me and so are boosters unless you're playing in some large venue, which I don't. Most are so goddamn loud I literally see no point in them.

I have 1 buffer under each board, one MicroThumpinator that also acts as an always on buffer. I use the SFX Micro EQ as an always on line driver. The Wounded Paw Blender V4 also helps a bit with signal. Then I have he always on SFX D][plomat, the Cali76Tx that also buffers, and often use some clean boosts as line drivers/volume equalizers as well. Plenty of buffering.driving, no tone loss.

I've considered building a dedicated booster to pair with my Holy Mountain since I tend to use it as an actual preamp rather than another dirt/overdrive pedal.

My thing about compressors is that I generally enjoy having one for my clean sound, but don't like the sound of it pre or post dirt/fuzz... I feel like those pedals provide plenty compression on their own, so adding more is just too much.

This was one reason I got my switcher, so that I could easily have a bunch of pedals on for, say, a gainy/full/crazy sound, then quickly switch to something simple like only comp and verb. BUT... ended up being a bit overkill for me. The huge amount of wires and new worries just drove me crazy, so I sold it.

With that in mind, would be nice to have a simple 2-channel looper with my dirt/fuzzes on one side, comp on the other. Need that one stomp change... currently shopping for options in that dept.

anywho, small changes. I'm liking and finding a lot more uses for the octave multiplexer than I thought I would.

Generally I prefer the black loop though, since the loops are independent. I like that it has the two power outs though, making it super useful for a dirt section.

I always use my overdrive alone, but like to stack fuzzes, so it would be nice to switch between just an overdrive to multiple fuzzes.

Stomp on both switches at the same time?

I've tried a bunch of different comps recently and there are only a couple I've liked for both clean and dirty (Ninevolt Pedals Homerunking and the Boss CS-2). When it works, it works really well for me and I end up using way less gain as a result.

One Control make some really useful little pedals. I'm using their Mosquite Blender for my Space Station.
