Haven't had a board together in about 2 months, but I had a surprise gig with a new project this past weekend & decided to put this board together. I actually haven't taken it apart yet because it's pretty freakin' functional and has some absolutely crazy sounds to be made.
Fairfield Accountant --> ss/bs Pretty Years (8-step program to converts Exp signal into CV & control the Pretty Years' filter) --> ss/bs No Memory --> Ct5 --> Echo Degrader --> Proverb --> Happiness (Exp control over filter) --> Ditto X2

Heh heh, yeah it's surprisingly multifunctional.

Nah, I just put it on top because I anticipated I would take it apart after our set/for ease of access to save time during setup. Also the space was available and the Phoenix is freakin' beautiful. When it was on my much more filled out board, the Phoenix lived underneath quite comfortably though.

Oh man, but where's the 856? That is a killer board though!

thanks for explaining, I keep one PS on top because it lights up!

Phoenix is pretty sweet looking for a power supply, always wondered if someone in a meeting said "why did we make it so pretty if people are just gonna bold it underneath?"

You're making me really want an 8 step for my ct5 and Pretty Years...

Still only using my ex-roommate's from time to time (when he's not gigging/recording). Mine's on the way back from Canadaland though, and I'll probably put it on the next iteration of my board.

Do it!!! I don't think I have to explain why it'd be awesome with the Pretty Years (beyond just normal Exp control you can cycle thru discrete filter notches for some mind-bending sounds), but with the Ct5 I've found ways to do stuff like Steve Reich's 'Come Out' and 'It's Gon' Rain'. I'll give you a quick tech rundown to further fuel your GAS - rate on the 8-step is set pretty much as fast as it goes, all 8 steps engaged. Set 7 of the 8 sliders to be unity pitch & one to be off a little bit - the slippage is more pronounced with larger intervals, but it's also harder to get all the sliders at unity when you're using a smaller quantization interval. Arm 2 heads for playback on mode 3, create a loop, close your eyes, lay back, and experience the world slowly melt into chaos and reassemble right in front of you. Basically every time the 8-step hits the non-unity slider, head 1 will go slightly out of sync with head 2 (faster or slower depending on how you dial the slider in). The fast rate ensures you can barely hear it, even if you're doing the octaves & fifths quant setting. More sliders off = more pronounced desynchronization and a more noticeable pitch shift, which can be cool in its own regards though.
Also in Mode 2 setting all the sliders to different positions and applying it to either the randomization or the length knobs will give you a delay with non-constant delay time, yet absolutely no pitch-bending artifacts, as long as you're holding down the soft switch.
Long story short, DO IT. BUY NOW!!!

Started my board rejig tonight :picard:
The big gap next to the whammy is a placeholder for my replacement 4046m whenever that's ready. The line selector under the ct5 is to route the 8step to either the ct5 or PS3, the big black mammoth clone above the t-resonator is a placeholder (size wise) for a stereo bypass looper for the t-resonator that Tom at wee lush is building me, with two switches to bypass the left/right inputs seperately. Grey box under the ms50g is tap tempo for the dd7. Ditto x4 is now off board as my looping is completely midi sequenced so no need to have it on the floor.

Image

Slow engine -> blue box -> whammy (molten midi) -> switchblade

Output 1 -> Industrialectric 4046-m (big gap at top - awaiting replacement) -> molecule v3 -> Geiger counter civilian -> PS3 (8 step controlled) -> clari(not) -> t-resonator -> judder mini -> dd7 -> rv7 -> ditto x4

Output 2 -> synth wah -> glitch -> purple octopus -> ct5 (8 step controlled) -> murf -> ms50g -> t-resonator -> noise floor -> bad stone -> dd7 -> rv7 -> ditto x4

Okay! I'll make a video later today probably! My phone has been acting up and ruining the audio (replaces some/all of it with white noise) when I try and make videos in moderately loud places (e.g. amplifier/PA volumes), but I'll try and do the phase demo with my Organelle and computer monitors. I'll share it here and/or the Ct5 thread when it's up :^)

Also chrisdermo your board is amazing! I've been wondering if there's some sort of TRS routing device to do exactly what you've got set up. Gonna have to look up that T-resonator today too.
