Yeah 10,000 Years is a banger. I want to say the High on Fire tone from the early records is really that Soldano Pre, though?

It's that cranked matamp power section as well.

Dazed, what's that set going into?

Thanks to youtube and a $6 can of contact cleaner from Home Depot, my Concert Bass is sounding amazing. Plug a Big Muff and a SG into it and you're riding the doomtrain.

These guys are going into an refinished ibanez mmm1 baritone because it is a dual humbucker guitar. The main guitar that I play is a telemaster that i built from warmoth parts and that has a tele neck and a tele neck. If I like these blk tri i may pick up some others to stick in the warmoth guitar too. I'll take some pics once I get them installed.

Also, I have a concert bass. I used it for a bit with a baritone guitar. It sounded nice, especially the cleans but I had to basically leave the boost on all the time to get it loud enought to compete with 100 watt tube amps. Without the boost it just wasn't loud enough. The distortion on it sounded nice but it wasn't that high gain. It was also very picky about what overdrive and fuzz it liked. The pedal set up I would use with the sunn would be completely different than using a tube amp.

I've been drinking bourbon since my kid fell asleep. Work/parenthood/associated white suburban nonsense has seriously cut into my guitar playing time. I ordered the shit out of the new Whores and Khemmis albums, and it was good.

Hope all you shitheads are well.

I think the Soldano didn't show up till Blessed Black Wings. It was kinda funny, whenever Matt would change gear it definitely became a topic of much debate amongst other bands in the Bay Area.

There's a video from 99 of them playing on a radio station and he's running the Soldano pre into his Green head...then he blows the head. It's awesome.

See Death is this Communion and Surrounded by Thieves are my favorites.

But they were also the first HoF albums I got, so lasting impressions and all that...

Yeah I think the Soldano into the front end of the Greens is the sound of those early records up through BBW.

If we're talking HoF from the first era though, this is my favorite clip:

For sure man! The new songs are rippers. Trying my damnedest to make the 11/30 show in RDU but you know how weekday things go for suburban white folks. I will let you know if it works out and I'll bring coffee and be nerdy about your gear :!!!:
