That's funny, I have gutshots from that one.
I wonder when they added the second switch.

No, I think whoever did posted gutshots on FSB or something like that.
I have one of the newer ones.

Alright, I feel like I've played with the volca fm enough to safely say it's a good little machine. It has lots of fun sounds in it, but doing a deep edit of the sounds is fucking awful. Being able to control the attack/decay of the carriers and modulators wherever you're at is really handy, though. And those two controls let you do an amazing amount of sound sculpting.
I made a blank preset on it that's just a single carrier with no modulation of any kind, and that took me forever. They didn't really improve on the DX7 when it comes to creating a patch from scratch. This almost makes me want to flip it to get the Keys, but this thing has a few things that make it a lot funner for what I want to use it for.
The length of the attack and the release are insane. It's sooooo easy to get some tasty drones with this, and making those 90's tv-synth sounds with this is really fun. The arpeggiator is insanely useful and makes it really easy to change the feel of your sequence in an instant. Syncing it with the Sample's super nice because you can divide the FM's tempo in a few different ways; and you can keep the sequence from feeling super slow by using the arpeggiator. So, using this and the Sample to make an entire song is entirely doable.
I'm not sure I like the way you program the sequencer. It's more performance oriented. You play the notes you want in your sequence in real time, and it assigns them to the sequence. I thought it was going to be like the minilogue, which is the 303 style from what I understand. It's just different from what I'm used to
Bottom line: fun sequencing, syncing, and arpeggiating options. A complex and very capable sound engine that's hidden in a labyrinth of sub-menus. General sound sculpting is fun and easily available, though.

Fuzzdog in the uk, similar to BYOC, lots of classic fuzz kits to chose from with a few original mods and other stuff...
I wanted to try out some new fuzz flavours and this is definately a cheap solution.
Once I get these done: Muffs and Tonebenders!
